January 15th – Indian Army Day
Army Day is celebrated on 15th January every year in India, in recognition of Field Marshal Kodandera M. Cariappa's (then a Lieutenant General) taking over as the first Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army from General Sir Francis Butcher, the last British Commander-in-Chief of India, on 15th January 1949. Army Day marks a day to salute the valiant soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country and its citizens. Sahyadri Salutes the Pride of our nation, the Indian army.
Student Counsellor invited as the guest by Nitte University on the occasion of National Youth Day
Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor was invited as the guest by Nitte University on the occasion of National Youth Day. He was also asked to give a special talk on the life and ideologies of Swami Vivekananda. The Vice Chancellor of Nitte University Dr. Sathish Bhandary expressed his gratitude and appreciated the interaction session facilitated by the Student Counsellor.
