Student Counsellor conducts workshop for HoD's at MITE, Moodbidre
Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor was invited to conduct a half day workshop for the Principal, Vice-Principal, HoD's of all departments & Senior Grade faculty members of Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), Moodbidre on the topic – “Skills of Counselling”. Mr. Ankith explained the common Behavioural & Emotional Problems that a student may encounter and the skills required for a teacher to identify the problems of the students & effectively counsel them. Various case studies related to the concepts of counselling were discussed.

3rd Jan 2018 will indeed be a day to remember for me. Securing a rank in M.Tech wasn’t that easy, yet happy to see my name in the medal list column of the result sheet. 6 years in Sahyadri was definitely one of the finest learning experiences for me. There were ups and downs, and yes a little bit of struggle to go through the journey from being a normal student to a mastered engineer. I would take this opportunity to show my gratitude to all those people who were with me throughout my career, starting from my first day of LKG to the last day of MTECH, each and every person deserve to be thanked, and of course my parents who were always behind my back pushing me towards this goal.
Special thanks to a few people who did not just show me the path towards this goal but guided me in each and every step that I took in my M.Tech career. My guide Dr. Premanand Shenoy, My guru Dr. D L Prabhakara, My HOD Mr. Sunil Kumar Rai, Our Chairman Dr. Manjunath Bhandary sir, Our Princiapl Dr. Umesh M Bhushi and last but not the least, each and every faculty of Civil Engineering Department of Sahyadri. I am really grateful and thankful to all of you.

AEROPHILIA 2018, A National Level Aero-modelling Competition & Air Show
Sahyadri has taken the initiative to widen the innovative prospects in the field of aeronautics. Students of all grades & colleges across the country are invited to a two day National Level Aeromodelling competition “AEROPHILIA 2018”- an annual event during 26th & 27th of January 2018. This competition provides a platform to the students to showcase their talents and pursue their passion in a field that is very unique and provide eclectic opportunities.
The Aerophilia 2018 airshow is performed by Mr. Abdullah Gaseem and Mr. Eessa Saeed. It is open to the public and all students on 26th January 2018. The air show will provide a multitude of learning experiences in mathematics, history, arts/graphics and science.
The Aerophilia 2018 winners will be honoured with cash prizes worth of INR 2,75,000. This event will attract the Nation’s aero modelling enthusiasts to Mangaluru. Apart from Aeromodelling, one of the India’s finest Drone Race would be held in Sahyadri campus with cash prize worth INR 50,000. Special & Attractive air shows will be performed by National and International radio flyers of National repute. IITs and NITs – the elite institutions of our nation are expected to participate in this competition.
The highlights of the event are:
• Fixed Wing and 3D Helicopter Airshow by a professional team of 5 from India and Dubai.
• Eminent guest from DRDO, Air force, ISRO and IISc.
• Attractive cash prize for Aeromodelling, Drone Race and other competitions.
The event is organized by Team Challengers of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management; a group of students passionate about Aeronautics and Robotics. Experienced students who have participated in SAE International Aero Design Competition 2016 and 2017 held at Fort Worth, Texas, and Lakeland, Florida, USA, Boeing Aero Modeling Competition and various other aero modelling competitions are in the organizing committee.
