Engineering Student selected as the Campus Ambassador for Radiance 2019, IIT Bombay

MBAs visit HMT Limited, Kalamassery Unit, Kerala Ms Basavarajeshwari Ambi (USN: 4SF17IS012) is selected as the Campus Ambassador for Radiance 2019 and would represent our college at the festival at IIT Bombay.

Radiance is the annual research and technology festival of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Bombay. Radiance was first initiated in the year 2007. Over the years, it has built its own legacy and fraternity across the nation. Sahyadri family congratulates Ms Basavarajeshwari Ambi and wishes her good luck for her future endeavors.

Train the Trainer Programme was conducted for Faculties

Train the Trainer Programme was conducted for Faculties Train the trainer for the faculties of Computer Science and Information Science on “Teaching programming” for 1st Year/non IT students was conducted by Mr. Ramaprasad from 10 Seconds. The session mainly focused on how to teach any programming language to students so that they come out of the phobia of the same. He spoke on dividing the program into different levels where in level zero you make them understand the logic and then higher levels deal with writing the code. He also highlighted the importance of understanding the syntax and semantics of the program for a student without which writing code is not possible.

MBA faculty invited as Moderator for 2 day International Conference

Smartlink Network Systems Ltd Ms Prajwala Preema Rodrigues, Assistant Professor from the Department of Business Administration was invited as the Moderator for a two days International Conference on “Intellectual Property Rights and Entrepreneurship” organised by the Department of Commerce and Business Administration in St. Agnes College, Mangalore.

Faculty attends Workshop at NITK

MBAs visit HMT Limited, Kalamassery Unit, Kerala Ms. Jayapadmini Kanchan, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and Mrs. Sadhana, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering attended, TEQIP – III One week workshop on “Predictive Analytics and its Applications (PAA)” organized by the Dept. of Information Technology, NITK - Surathkal. The workshop was based on data science and its applications, challenges and its current trends in Industry.

Campus Recruitment Drive - LG Soft India

Campus Recruitment Drive - LG Soft India LG Soft India conducted a recruitment drive for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. The drive was for top 20 students, for the position of Automation Test Engineer with a salary package of Rs. 5.30 Lakhs Per Annum. The results are awaited.

Department of Mechanical Engineering
Introduction of Mentor:
Mr. Kishore D J is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He obtained his B.E degree in Mechanical Engineering from KIT Tiptur and M.Tech in Tool Engineering from GTTC, Mysuru. He has 4 years of teaching experience and 2 years of industrial experience. Presently, he is pursuing his PhD in the field of ‘Hot Machining Process’ under VTU Belagavi.

Introduction of the Mentee:
• Suraj K N is from Puttur. He completed his schooling from Indraprastha Vidyalaya, Uppinangady and PU from Ambika Vidhyalaya, Puttur. He is interested in sports like Kabaddi, Cricket and Carom. He participated in Kabaddi and Cricket at District level and he aspires to serve in the Indian Navy.
• Niranjan G. is from Bantwal. He completed his schooling from SVS English medium School, Bantwal and PU from Vivekananda P.U College, Puttur. He is good at Badminton, Volley Ball. Dancing is his hobby. He participated in the Taluk level Volley Ball competition and state level dance competition. He aspires to become an Entrepreneur.
• Amrutha H is from Mangaluru. She did her schooling at Chinmaya High School, Mangalore and studied PU at Canara PU College, Mangalore. Her Hobbies are listening to music, reading novels. Her goal is to work in core MNC company.
• Vaishak is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling at Besant English Medium School, Mangaluru and studied PU at Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing Cricket, Football. His aim is to become an Entrepreneur.
• Lathesh C Shetty is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling at Milagres School, Mangaluru and studied PU at Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His Hobbies are playing Cricket and Football. His aspiration is to become a Design Engineer.
• Rathan Shetty is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling at St Aloysius High School, Mangaluru and studied PU at St Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His Hobbies are photography, playing Cricket and Football. He wants to work in a reputed core industry after his graduation.

Department of Civil Engineering
Introduction of Mentor:
Ms. Kavyashree M.P is currently working as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. She obtained her BE degree from Vishveswarayya College of Engineering, Bangalore and M. Tech. in Remote Sensing and GIS from National Institute of Technology, Surathkal. She has 5 years of teaching experience and she is with Sahyadri since the last 4 years. Her research interests are Remote Sensing technologies, water resource management and Surveying.

Introduction of Mentees:
• Isthiyak is from Basthipadpu, Ullal. He did his schooling from Hazrath High School, Ullal, and studied PU at Aloysius P U College, Mangalore. His hobbies are playing cricket, volleyball and sports. His aspiration is to become entrepreneur in Civil Field.
• Sahid Afrid is from Mangalore. He completed schooling from Crescent High School Bhalki and studied PU from St Aloysius PU College Mangalore. His hobbies are playing football other sports. His aspiration is to become entrepneur.
• Mehtaz is from Mangalore . He completed schooling from Delhi Public School, Surathkal and studied PU from St Aloysius College, Mangalore. He won prizes in district level football tournament, 2nd place in carom tournament in PU. His hobbies are playing football and singing. His aspiration is to become Entrepreneur.
• Niranjan is from Padukare. He completed schooling from Govt. High School, Manoor and studied PU from St Aloysius P U College, Kodialbail, Mangalore. His hobbies are Playing Cricket, Drawing, reading novels etc. He was in the District level player in Kabadi. His aspiration is to become good civil engineer.
• Thejaswi is from Bantwala. She completed schooling from Infant Jesus English medium School, Modankap and studied PU from Carmel composite PU College, Modankap. Her Hobbies are reading novels, Sports, Singing & Drama. She is having a interest to learn about Psychology. She has won prizes in drama, mad ads compilations. Her aspiration is to become a counselor and successful Interior designer.
• Kadeeja Shadha is from Mangalore. She completed schooling from St Mary’s High School, Mangalore and studied PU from St. Agnes, Mangalore. Her hobbies are singing, reading and drawing. She has won 3rd prize in Taluk level clay modeling competition. Her aspiration is to become a good civil engineer.
• Chandan is from Kallgundi, Sulia. He completed schooling from Chinmaya High School, Kadri, Mangalore and studied PU from Canara PU College, Mangalore. His hobbies are playing Cricket and drawing. He has won 100m Race, Group Dance Competition as well as Mime competition at School level. His aspiration is to join government sector.
