Sahyadri Signs MOU with NASSCOM India Sahyadri Signs MOU with NASSCOM India  With the prime objective of bridging the academic industrial gaps, Sahyadri Institutions has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with NASSCOM India to launch various certification programmes in the engineering and Management domain.

NASSCOM, a not-for-profit industry association, is the apex body for the 154 billion dollar IT BPM industry in India, an industry that has made a phenomenal contribution to India's GDP, exports, employment, infrastructure and global visibility.

Certification programmes in the areas of IOT, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, Cloud Computing, Business Analytics and other related courses will be launched at the campus which will be certified by NASSCOM, Government of India and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Ms. Moneesha Shrivastav, Regional Lead (Karnataka) from NASSCOM and Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman-Bhandary Foundation, signed and exchanged the agreement along with the other dignitaries of the institution.

Sahyadrians Recruited by Infosys Swarna Bharathi Mallya K and Akash Shetty D from the department of Computer Science & Engineering have been selected by Infosys for the designation of Systems Engineer - Specialist with a package of 5 Lakhs per Annum in the recently held HackWithInfy contest for 2019 outgoing batch.

10-Day Technical Training for students & Faculty 10-Day Technical Training for students & Faculty As an engineer who is a problem solver in various ways in day to days necessities, needs to be a constant learner and requires a strong sense of reasoning and a structured approach to problem solving. To understand the technical skills, a 10-Day technical aptitude training was held for the 3rd year engineering students of CSE, ISE, and ECE branches. A total of 324 students went through the hands on experience on C, C++, Python, introduction to IOT, and problem solving techniques for ten days. Along with the students, the placement faculty coordinators of respective departments were also present to enhance the knowledge and got an overview of industrial expectation. This training was arranged by the Department of Aptitude and Placement.

Winners of the Nationwide Women’s Law Awareness Quiz competition

Nationwide quiz competition on Women’s Law awareness was conducted for the first year engineering students by the Sahyadri NSS Unit as per the directives of National Commission for Women, New Delhi and Vivesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi . This initiative was taken up by NCW with an intention of creating awareness among the students regarding Women’s law. Winners were announced by NCW. The following students secured places:

Mr. Jagadish Poojary, Sahyadri Multi-Gymnasium trainer and staff member in the Department of Mathematics won First Prize in 'Mr. Dakshina Kannada - 2019' District Body Building Competition held in Mangaluru. He has also been selected for State Level Body Building Competition.

Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Joyline Germine Dsa has 8 years of Academic experience along with 5 years of research work. She has published 7 peered reviewed SCI- indexed international journals and 04 international conferences. She is currently working on sensors and fabrication and characterization of drug delivery devices for its application in controlled release. Her research areas are Microelectronics, VLSI technology, Bio-MEMS. She has now submitted her thesis for the award of Ph.D.
Introduction of Mentees:
• Ananya P.J, from Kasargod, is an enthusiastic student who is also a district level badminton player. She has scored 99% in PU Board exam. Ananya takes photography as her hobby and playing badminton her zeal. She dreams to work for Intel.
• Jeethan D Almeida, from Uppala is an athlete who loves to participate in race, football and cricket. Jeethan wants to be a good Electronics and Communication Engineer.
• Naveen Shenoy from Hosur dreams to be an entrepreneur and keeps himself engaged with extra co-curricular activities such as robotics, quizzing, debate etc. and likes to play cricket as sports adventure.
• Shreya S.K, from Bajal, Mangaluru is a passionate student who has scored 90% in PU. Shreya performs in drama as her interest along with robotics and programming as her club activity. She likes to play Throw ball as a part of sports interest. She wants to be a successful engineer.
• R Snehith belongs to Nagori Mangaluru. He likes photography and participates in club activities where he can excel and recognize himself. Snehith has a dream to be a professional and an entrepreneur.
• Vaishak from Boloor, Mangaluru dreams to be a successful engineer.
• Venkatesh Bhat K likes to participate in quiz, debate, programming and robotics activities. He likes to play Kabaddi, volleyball as sports activity. To be a successful engineer is what Venkatesh aims at.

Prof. Shivakumar K M obtained his B.E degree in Mechanical Engineering and M Tech in Production Management from BVB College of Engineering & Technology, Hubli. He has 5 years of teaching experience at Sahyadri and 3 years of Industrial Experience.
Introduction of the Mentees:
• Syed Aimen Bilal is from Shirur. He did his schooling and PU at Green Valley National School, Shirur. He is good at Playing Football, playing games, art and sketching. His aspiration is to open his own automobile company in the future.
• Nithin Padmanabh. G. Kamath is from Mulky. He did his Schooling at Shri Vyas Maharshi Vidyalaya Peetha, Mulky and studied PU at Vijaya PU College, Mulky. His Hobbies are Playing cricket and painting. His goal is to become a marine engineer.
• Manvith Alva is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling at Canara CBSE, Mangaluru and studied PU at Canara PU College, Mangaluru. His Hobbies are listening to music and playing football. His goal is to work in a core MNC company.
• Hassan Rashid Mh. is from Kumbala. He did his schooling at GHSS, Kumbala and studied PU at GHSS, Pavalike. His hobbies are Playing cricket, football and reading novels. His aim is to design a unique car and establish an automobile company.
• Rithvik S is from Uppinangadi. He did his schooling at Indraprastha vidyalaya, Uppinangadi and studied PU at Shri Ramakunjeshwar PU College, Ramakunja. His Hobbies are playing cricket and Football and even secured Rashtrapathi Puraskar for scout and guide. He wants to be an Entrepreneur in the field of automation and robotics.
• Vallabh V Bhandary is from Mangaluru. He did his schooling at St. Augustines high school, Mumbai and studied PU at St Peters PU college, Mumbai. His Hobbies are Photography, playing cricket, football and he has participated in district level football competition held at Palghar. He wants to work in a reputed core industry after his graduation.
