Problem statement-to-Product: Smart Digital Display Board developed by final year Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) students

As a part of the green initiative internship programme, the students of final year ECE have successfully designed the Smart digital display board at Research Design Lab (RDL) Technologies Pvt. Ltd. With a lot of latest innovative developments and in-house industry-academia activities, approximately 60 banners were consumed in a month which indirectly created 180 Kg of plastic wastage. Keeping this problem statement as motivation, students of final year electronics & communication department collectively proposed a concept keeping the knowledge and expertise gained in their internship programme which has fruitfully resulted into a product. The process of idea to a product has been facilitated by RDL technologies Pvt. Ltd who provided them with complete training, infrastructure and support for prototyping and development. The student team comprising of Priya Suryavanshi, Prithwi C Bhandary, Ashika Bhandary, Arpita Shetty, Sarika, Priya k, Punyashree, Prathishta T P, Simrin, Shruthi, Sharanya Acharya, Shilpa and Ronston have submitted this product to the Principal - Prof. (Dr.) R Srinivasa Rao Kunte. RDL team members Mr. Pradeep Kumar, Mr. Santosh Kumar, Dr. Anush Bekal and Ms. Nisha were present during the occasion.

Professors from VTU Belagavi interact with MBA students & Faculty

Dr. Deepti Shetty & Dr. VijayKumar Dhannur, Dept of Management, VTU in Belagavi were at the campus and addressed the students on “Resume: Your Ticket to an Interview” and “How to face an Interview”. They also had an informal discussion with the budding Research Scholars who are currently pursuing their PhD in VTU.

MBA Students Pledge to donate all their organs

Ms. Josline Shallet Fernandes, Ms Nishmitha K and Ms Shriraksha of first year MBA have taken a pledge to donate all their organs. They have registered themselves as donors in the National Organ Transplant Portal under the guidance of Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor at the Health & Counselling Centre.

Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, was invited as a resource person by Besant Evening College to address their undergraduate students on the topic "Self Awareness for Professional Efficiency" during their annual special NSS camp held at Govineethashrama, Inoli.

Mr. Vaishak NL has pursued his B.E from VCET Puttur and M. Tech from SIT, Valachil. He joined Sahyadri in the year 2010 and prior to this he was in industry. Presently, he is pursuing his PhD in the field of ‘Metal Forming’ under VTU Belagavi.


Introduction of the Mentees:
• Pranith Bhat is from Sirsi. He completed his schooling from Ave Maria High School Sirsi and PU from M.E.S.P.U College, Sirsi. He is a State level Badminton Player and also interested in Robotics. He aspires to serve in the Indian Navy.
• Vineeth Lester Pais is from Mangaluru. He completed his schooling from St. Ann’s High School and PU from Paduva P.U College. Badminton and Photography is his hobby. He aspires to become an Entrepreneur.
• Moidin Imbraz is from Manjeshwar. He completed his schooling from Infant Jesus English Medium School Manjeshwara and PU from St. Aloysius P.U. College. His hobbies are Travelling and Photography. His aspiration is to become a Design Engineer.
• Deepak J is from Mysuru. He completed his schooling from Viveka School of Excellence Mysuru and PU from Vishwa Manava PU College Mandya. He is interested in Sports and also in the field of Marketing. His aspiration is to work in a reputed Multi National Company.
• Shobith B.S is from Shringeri. He completed his schooling from Annapoorna Vidyamandira Agumbe and PU from Jnanasudha PU.College Karkala. He is interested in Sports and Games and he is a state level throw ball winner. His aspiration is to become a Production Engineer.
• Adesh Raghav is from Puttur. He completed his schooling from Vivekananda School and PUC from Vivekananda PU College Nehrunagar. His hobby is Reading Novels. His aim is to become an Engineer in a reputed multinational company.
• Karthikeya Bhat is from Mangaluru. He completed his schooling from SDM School and PU from SDM PU College Ujire. His hobbies are reading and listening to music. His aim is to work in a reputed multinational Company.
