Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Department : Mechanical Engineering
Introduction of the Mentor:
Prof. Kiran Prakash A. obtained his B.E. Degree in Mechanical Engineering from VCET, Puttur. He did his Masters of Technology (M.Tech) in Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) from VTU Regional Centre at Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. Presently he is pursuing Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. His research area includes Thermal and Oxidation Behavior of Ceramic Coatings on High Temperature Alloys.
Prof. Kiran Prakash has been into teaching since last 8.5 years. He handles subjects for both UG and PG courses such as Kinematics of Machines, Energy Engineering, Engineering Graphics, Engineering Economics, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing, Mechanics of Materials, Computer Aided Machine Drawing, Fluid Power Systems, Automotive Engineering, etc. He is an active member of SAEINDIA. Having served as a Faculty Advisor for Collegiate SAE BAJA and SAE SUPRA Team for the Year 2015-2016, continues to be the faculty adviser for the current academic year.

Introduction of the Mentees:
• Shreyas J. Bangera is from Udupi. He pursued his schooling from Shri Narayana Guru English Medium School, Malpe and PUC from Poorna Prajna PU College, Udupi. He has participated in several National Level Intercollegiate Robotics competitions held at various IITs and has won prizes in different categories. He has also actively participated in games and played Volleyball at the District Level tournaments. His aspiration is to join Indian Navy.

• Akshay Krishna Rai K is from Kasaragod. He pursued his schooling from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kasaragod and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He is interested in Robotics Engineering. He has participated in several National Level Intercollegiate Robotics competitions held at various IITs and has won prizes in different categories.

• Suhas P. is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Canara High School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangalore. His hobbies include playing football, cricket and reading articles. He represented his school team to participate in State Level Cricket Tournament.

• Sanath H.N. is from Kundapur. He pursued his schooling from Shri Venkatramana English Medium School, and PUC from R.N Shetty PU College, Kundapur. His hobbies include playing football and cricket. He represented his school team to participate in State Level Long Jump competition.
