Faculty attends One-Day UBA Orientation Workshop at Christ University, Bengaluru

Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti, Professor, Dept of Mechanical Engineering and Principal Investigator- Unnat Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 (UBA 2.0) Program at Sahyadri, attended a One-Day UBA Workshop at Christ University, Bengaluru on 4th Jan’20. The Workshop was conducted by IIT Delhi, National Coordinating Institute of UBA. UBA Principal Investigators from all over Karnataka attended the Workshop.

Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Program is a flagship program under the Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India to engage educational institutes in adopting villages and contributing to rural developmental activities in those villages.

Many developments under UBA banner such as grants for faculty to do rural research and development, volunteering activities, interaction with villagers and future rural development initiatives was discussed.

It was discussed during the Workshop that UBA was going to be linked to AICTE, UGC, NIRF, NAAC and other accreditation bodies in the future where these bodies will direct the requirements for rural development expected from students, faculty and institutes.

Future Skills - AI/ML Big Data conducts its Sixth Session on "Machine Learning Algorithms"

Sahyadri Future Skills - AI/ML Big Data organized its sixth session entitled "Machine Learning Algorithms" on 4th Jan’20. Dr. J V Gorabal, Head of the Dept of Computer Science & Engineering facilitated the session.

Dr Gorabal discussed about the various kinds of algorithms used in machine learning and its applications. He explained the importance of supervised and unsupervised learning in machine learning. He also enlightened on the various applications of machine learning that we use on a daily basis.

The session was helpful in understanding the various machine learning algorithms used in the applications that are used every day.

Prof. Supreeth Prabhu N has pursued his Engineering degree from Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, Puttur and M.Tech degree in CADS from Malnad College of Engineering, Hassan. His Area of Specialisation is Structural Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering and Reliability Engineering. He has a teaching experience of 6 years.
Introduction of the Mentees:
• Asil Khader is from Mangaluru. He pursued his schooling from Milagres High School and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies include playing football and reading books. He aspires to work as an engineer in Karnataka Public Works Department.

• Prithvika is from Bantwal. She pursued her schooling from SVS High School and PUC from SVS PU College, Bantwal. Her hobbies include pencil sketching and painting. She aspires to become an entrepreneur in Civil Engineering field.

Upcoming Event

A 10-Day Skill Development & Internship Certification Programme for the Sixth Semester students from Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication branches of Engineering, will commence tomorrow, 7th Jan’19. Over 300 students would be a part of this training. The training session is conducted by 10 Seconds, a Specialized Learning Solutions partner for Organizations and Institution.
