Induction Programme for Newly Joined Faculty Members – Day One

Induction Programme for newly joined faculty members is scheduled to be held during 11th Jan- 16th Jan, 2021. The first session was facilitated by Prof. Ramesh K. G., Dean-Strategic Planning where the faculty had to introduce themselves and share their previous experiences. Prof. Ramesh mentioned how teaching is fuelled by passion, and cannot be merely seen as a job. He also shared the growth story of the Institute over the years and spoke about the efforts put in to reach this height. He emphasized the importance of brand value and how an employee is a brand ambassador and the responsibility they hold towards the betterment of the institute.
The second session was by Dr. Nalini E Rebello, Dean-Academics. She briefed the new faculty members’ academic activities, accreditation, research activities and start-up culture at Sahyadri. She also mentioned how a teacher should facilitate the students professionally and to have new and innovative approaches to guide the new generation students.

Prof. Chandra Singh, Assistant Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering has reviewed the chapters of book entitled “Internet of Things: Technologies and Research Directions” to be published by CRC PRESS (A Taylor & Francis Group)
About the Book
The focus of this book is on the key technologies, challenges and research directions associated with IIoT (Industrial Internet of things). Energy efficiency, co-existence, real-time performance, interoperability, security and privacy, reliable, fast and stable communication networks are some of the challenges associated with Industry4.0. This book provides a basis for discussing open principles, methods and research problems in IIoT. It also provides a systematic overview of the state-of-the-art research efforts and potential research directions to deal with IIoT challenges. The key technologies will be enumerated and research problems within these topics will also be discussed.

Training and Placement - Unicourt Pre-placement Talk

Mangalore Infotech (Unicourt) hosted the Pre-placement talk for the CS, IS and EC Engineering students from 2021 outgoing batch as a part of the Virtual Campus Recruitment drive. There was a brief description about the Job role, Selection Process, Compensation and Benefits. The pre-placement talk consisted of Introduction about Unicourt, Company’s growth prospects, Internship, Perks and Benefits. Mr. Ryan Lobo and Ms. Ananya Hebbar, Recruitment team had carried out the presentation followed by a Question & Answer session for clarifying the doubts of participants.
