Swami Mahamedhananda from Ramakrishna Mission addresses MBAs

Swami Mahamedhananda, a Sannyasi of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, a monastic organization established by Swami Vivekananda in 1897, visited Sahyadri on 14th Jan’2021 and addressed the first year MBA students on “What is Success?” Attracted by the divinity of Sri Ramakrishna, and the all-embracing spirit of the Ramakrishna Order he joined it in 2004 at Belur Math in West Bengal, the international headquarters of the Order.
For the last two decades, he has been associated with Value Education work. He has served as coordinator of a Personality Development Project at Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education, Mysuru, and has then been involved in Belur Math’s Value Education Programmes. For nearly a decade he served as a Hostel Superintendent, college teacher, and then Joint Controller of Examinations at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, a fully autonomous residential UG to PhD College for men located adjacent to Belur Math.
From Aug 2016 he is serving as the editor of The Vedanta Kesari, one of the monthly cultural and spiritual English magazines of the Ramakrishna Order published from Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai.
He is also for more than four years engaged with the Vivekananda Study Circle (VSC) at IIT Madras. He conducts regular Sunday classes at the IIT Madras campus for VSC students and guides them in rural service activities.

Induction programme for Newly Joined Faculty Members – Day Three

Dr. Rathishchandra Gatti, Professor and Head-Dept. of Funding and Projects addressed the newly joined faculty on RDAC (Research and Development Advisory Committee) and the activities under RDAC. He mentioned about the supporting nature of RDAC for students and faculty for research publication and availing grants. He gave an insight on the operations of IPR Cell and process to file a patent. He also mentioned of the work carried out under Unnat Bharath Abhiyan. In the second part of his presentation, he explained the importance of research and gave inputs for carrying out quality research and publication and how it affects the NIRF ranking of the institution.
The second session was by Dr. Anush Bekal, Associate Professor and Vice-President of Sahyadri Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) addressed the faculty members on the working and activities undertaken by IIC. He emphasized that Teaching Learning Process should be in line with the Vision and Mission of the Institute and role of innovation in fulfilling the vision of the institute. He motivated the newly joined faculty members to work with their mentees to contest for National Innovation Contest conducted by Ministry of Education Innovation Cell and how this can bring value addition to their personal profile and to the college.
