72nd Anniversary of the Republic Day Celebrated at Sahyadri

The 72nd Anniversary of the Republic Day was celebrated in the campus by hoisting the national flag by the Chief Guest – Mr. Abhijith Shetty, Vice-President, Juego Studios Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru.
Post this, Dr. Nalini Rebello, Dean-Academics introduced the Student Council Members to the Chief Guest.

While addressing the gathering, Mr. Abhijith Shetty, referred to the words of Honorable Prime Minister where he urged the citizens of India to focus on the roles and responsibilities as students, faculty, Institution and Corporates in building the nation. He said - as students are the future of the nation, they should focus on their skill-sets that will contribute to the nation. He appreciated Sahyadri for its facilities in building entrepreneurial talent and urged the students to take up entrepreneurship for their career. He emphasized on evaluating the strengths and build on it. He called upon the faculty to encourage, lead and identify the strengths of the students and guide them to enhance their skills. As an institution, they are doing their responsibility of providing facility and support in all the endeavors of its stakeholders. Corporates are driving profits inspite of COVID period. He re-iterated that Juego Studios Pvt Ltd has a close association with Sahyadri and has an MOU for Training, Seminar and Internship opportunities.

Post his speech; students recited Bankim Chandra’s, “Vande Mataram”, The National Song. Young achievers from 1st year Engineering were then felicitated by the Chief Guest. Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman; Dr. Rajesha S, Principal; Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice-Principal, HODs of various departments and the Company Heads were also part of the occasion.
About the Chief Guest:
Armed with a sound technical background, Abhijith has extensive experience in software development, agile processes and cloud technologies.

• Majorly responsible for project management and execution
• Handled oversees vendor management and talent acquisition.
• Also heads Juego Studio’s technology team that works on Cloud technologies, Real time communication, Machine learning, AI, Serverless technology, Augmented Reality and Mixed Reality.
