Dept. of ISE conducts the PAC Meeting
The ProgrammeAssessment Committee (PAC) Meeting of the Dept. of Information Science & Engineering was conducted on 14th July'2020 in a blended mode. Dr.ShamanthRai, Assoc. Professor& Head, presented the observations given by the NBA Expert Committee and the action plans needed to be taken. He also stated the progress of 2019-20 Odd Semester highlighting student performance through result analysis, MOOC courses taken, placements and entrepreneurial activities, faculty performance through research and publications, certification courses etc. All the seven criteria were discussed thoroughly in the meeting.
Dr.Rajesha S., Principal gave valuable suggestions related to effective implementation of Teaching Learning Process, Industry Institute Interaction and its Impact Analysis, tracking student progress and so on.Ms.NaliniRebello, Dean-Academics gave insights on effective attainment analysis, internship implementation and so on.
The faculty were also present and gave their inputs to enhance the overall OBE implementation in the department.

Training and Placement for Students of Sahyadri - Wipro TalentNext 2020
Wipro collaborates with Sahyadri to redefine the learning paths. This initiative comprises of enhancing the quality of IT faculty, building Digital Academic Leadership and imparting the Emerging Digital Technology to the certified faculty and the leaders.
At Wipro, they thrive to build a world where continuous growth and earning is not just a concept but an inherent part of the way we work. TalentNext, a unique collaborative initiative, has been launched based on the same notion. It is an enablement to train the faculty and the students to make them industry ready.
Upon certification, each Wipro Certified Faculty (WCF) can nominate and train up to 100 students. The curriculum focuses on industry ready Skills – specifically in Java and Python. The training-learning process is designed with Project Based Learning (PBL). The duration of the curriculum is about 160 hours. Students should plan and budget at least 2 hours per day to complete the program.
This program will help students to develop problem solving skills, good coding capability and understanding of the Industry projects.
India First Leadership Talk Series with CEO, PrasarBharati, was organized by MHRD – Institution Innovation Cell
A Webinar on India's First Leadership Talk Series was organized by MHRD – Institution Innovation Cell on 11th July'2020, with Mr.ShashiShekhar, CEO, PrasarBharati. Dr.AbhayJere, Chief Innovation Officer, MHRD Innovation Cell was the moderator.
Mr.ShashiShekar is a versatile person and has many credentials. He began by saying when he joined PrasarBharti Board as a Manager he was the only one who knew about the email interface on a common platform when the internet had just made its presence felt in India.
Mr.Shashi said the Data Analytics which began during that time had a great impact in the work environment. They have achieved e-office, a digital footprint which is beginning to pay off. PrasarBharti covers both Doordarshan and All India Radio. Doordarshan DTH platform has helped have Tele-education during this Covid situation to ensure the school year is not wasted, he said. He also spoke on BARC analysis and said they are still working on algorithms for better ratings of channels.
His message for students is to prepare for Internet disruptions in the Media because there is a need to keep innovating. Overall the Talk focused on Technology in Media which is indeed the need of the hour and can be utilized well.
