Mumbai Metro's Mega Multi-crore Order on Caliper
It's Raining Orders for Caliper, an In-house Start-up Industry at Sahyadri, in the recent times.
Caliper has received a single order for a whopping Rs.2.80 Crore from Bharat Earth Movers Ltd (BEML) for supplying products to Mumbai Metro Project. This is the single largest order bagged and secured by Caliper amidst fierce competition from large companies. This project is very special, as it will run for a year, followed by repeat orders for atleast another three years.
This is a very special moment for Sahyadri and its in-house industries, as there is big opportunity for students to work on Live projects/Internships with BEML/Mumbai Metro for years from now, which has the potential to get them placed in top Companies, as India is now flocked by several Metro Projects across the country.
This opens Internship opportunities for our Mechanical Engineering students to work on live projects for reputed clients such as BEML.

A Research Paper by Dr.Chatrapathy K., Faculty, Dept. of Information Science& Engineering titled "Implementation of AI based Safety and Security System Integration for Smart City" is published in the Scopus indexed Q3 Journal International Journal of Advanced Science and Technology.
The Govt. of India has a goal to develop 100 smart cities which will work on smart technologies like smart grid, smart phone, and smart road with different tracking devices which will generate large amount of data. Handling this huge data using optimal resources is most important in smart city applications.
In this Paper, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) based safety and security system is proposed for human beings and their personal data in a smart environment. The system is designed with AI module with machine learning algorithms, IoT technology, sensors, smart drones, intelligent video surveillance, data analytics and cyber security modules. This system can efficiently protect the citizens and their personal data against the criminals with high speed and accuracy.
