Chairman Interacts with Students of the Bridge Course
Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, interacted with the students of the Bridge Course. He narrated the evolution of the Bridge Course by Sahyadri to the current scenario. He highlighted that the Bridge Course is an opportunity given to them to become leaders and role models to other students.
In his session he explained how aptitude and value added courses will help in the engineering field. He encouraged students to take up small projects and also motivated them to participate wholeheartedly in all activities this year and to engage the next Bridge Course batch in the coming year. He requested the students to document the 18 days bridge course experience and share it with others who did not get the opportunity to attend the Bridge Course. He urged the students to involve themselves in internships in industries and gain experiential knowledge.

Improve Teaching Methodologies: Chairman Addresses Faculty Members
Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman, addressed the faculty members of the first year students and shared his thoughts on improving teaching methodologies. He gave a call to all the faculty members to motivate the students of the first year and help them to develop interest in their curricula. During his motivational address, he said each class handled by the faculty should be interactive; also personality development and soft skills should be inculcated into their teaching. He encouraged the faculty members to visit industries often which would help enlighten students to know and understand industry–corporate culture. He stressed on faculty grooming.
Dr. U. M. Bhushi, Principal, concluded by saying that being dynamic is the need of the hour. He said it is more important to be recognized as a teacher rather than a faculty.
Dr. Manjappa Sarathi Invited as Resource Person by Kuvempu University
Dr. Manjappa Sarathi, Director of Research and Consultancy at Sahyadri Research Center was invited as the resource person for a National Level seminar on `Recent Trends in Environmental Science’ by the Department of PG Studies and Research in Environmental Science, Kuvempu University, Shivamogga.
