Sahyadrians secure 2nd place at the state level VTU Project Competition Civil Engineering Department

Three students of Final Year Civil Engineering Department, namely Mr. Vinaychandra, Mr. Manikanta Prasad and Mr. Sanith Aravind have secured 2nd place in “Project Exhibition Cum Competition” for project “One Step towards Swachh Bharath” under the guidance of Mr. Gireesh Mailar, Assistant Professor of Civil Engineering Department.


It was a state level VTU project competition, which was held at VTU Belagavi on 28th June 2018.

Bridge Course for the engineering students commenced at Sahyadri campus

The Bridge Course for the Engineering students of 2018 Batch has commenced in the campus. In his inaugural speech Principal, Dr. R. Srinivas Rao Kunte advised the students to accept the branch of study to which they have been admitted and pursue the same sincerely with total dedication and involvement. Further he insisted that students make use of all the industrial and hands on facilities created in the institution and to develop the required personality during the course of studies to emerge as competitive engineers.

Prof. S S Balakrishna, Vice Principal, emphasized the importance of engineering and the contributions of engineers to the society, and to the nation as a whole. He highlighted the differences between applied science and pure science. He also explained to the students about the different branches available in engineering.

Mr. Johnson Tellis, Founder of DREAMERS, briefed the students on the qualities a good engineer needs to instill in them. The afternoon session entailed activities that strengthened the team spirit.

Sahyadrians go to Malaysia on an international study visit

Twenty Six students from first year MBA accompanied by Dr. Umesh Bhushi & Mrs Bhushi, Dr Vishal Samartha and Mr Girish Madla reached Malaysia on an international study visit. The team visited Royal Selangor, maker of world's finest pewter and a museum at Federal Bank of Malaysia. The students had a great learning experience at both the places.

Besides, the team also visited Petronas Twin Towers, Genting Highlands, Putra Mosque, Prime Minister's Office, Batu Caves, Istana Negara, National Monument, Malaysia, River of Life and King's Palace.

The Team is now proceeding to Thailand on a two day visit.

Sahyadri family is happy to welcome Ms. Anusha Ananth Rao, who has joined as Assistant Placement Officer in the Placement Department. Ms. Anusha has completed her B.E in Computer Science from Canara Engineering College and MBA in Human Resource & Marketing from the School of Management, Manipal University. Prior to this she has worked as Human Capital Associate in Pricewaterhouse Coopers, SDC, Bangalore.

Pool Campus Recruitment Drive - Caliper Engineering & Lab Pvt Ltd.

Caliper Engineering Lab conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for the Mechanical Engineering students of 2018 Btch. Mr S. M. Sunder, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Natarajan, QA/Training Manager and Mr Abhishek K., Asst Professor, Mechanical Engineering from the recruitment team facilitated the entire process. Five students were selected.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri

Focus Academy for Career Enhancement (FACE) is visiting Sahyadri to conduct the Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for the Engineering students of 2018 Batch.

Started in December 2008, FACE is an entrepreneurial venture based out of Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) by two IIM graduates. They are in the business of employability skills development primarily focusing on engineering and management studies students.
