Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, conducted a one day workshop
Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, under the banner of IETE Student's Forum (ISF) conducted a one day workshop on "PCB : Design and Manufacture" on 26th July 2019.
The objective of the workshop was to help the second year students render better circuit designs for their projects and in order to help them explore the possibilities of PCB designing. The workshop was organized and conducted by IETE Coordinator Mrs. Megha N and IETE Student's Forum committee members.
The various topics delivered included advantages of PCBs, types of PCBs, uses of different PCBs and the process of etching PCBs. The students were introduced to open source PCB design software, using which they designed a simple sound amplifier circuit. The students were then provided with components to rig up the amplifier circuit. The hands-on experience in designing and building the circuit provided the students with exposure to the various thrust areas in VLSI vertical.
Third Semester student delivers a talk

Reverse engineering project undertaken by Caliper @ Nuclear Power Station
Caliper was invited by Nuclear Power Corporation @ Kudankulam Plant for conducting reverse engineering study of pressure vessel studs and nuts. Mr. Vignesh and Mr. Abhishek from Caliper visited the nuclear plant & collected technical information for further carrying out reverse engineering @ Caliper. Presently these products are imported from Russia, which will soon be produced by Caliper, under “Make In India” program.
Caliper is an in-house start-up Company in Sahyadri, set-up to manufacture precision machined & fabricated products / assemblies to serve niche industries in nuclear, defence, ISRO, oil and gas sectors.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri
Sahyadri is hosting its first ever event the prestigious TEDxSCEM on the theme - How UnpredictABLE are You?
TEDxSCEM is an event organised under the banner of TEDx. It is a local gathering where live TED-like talks and performances are shared with the community.
