Computer Science & Engineering Final Year student Selected for Cyber Shikshaa Program

Ms_Rheona Ms. Rheona Preema Fernandes, Final Year Computer Science & Engineering student has been selected for Cyber Shikshaa Program which was organized by Microsoft & Data Security Council of India (DSCI). With support from ISEA an initiative of Ministry of Electronics & IT (MeitY), they have launched Project Cyber Shikshaa for skilling women engineering graduates in the niche field of Cyber Security in September 2018. As part of this program, C-DAC, NIELIT and other noted training partners are conducting training exclusively for women and making them Industry ready by imparting the requisite technical skills in the domain of Cyber Security. The program started with 3 cities initially and is now having footprints across India which includes successful completion of 22 batches in 12 cities.
DSCI is pleased to partner with Microsoft in developing industry ready women cyber security professionals through Cyber Shikshaa program. The program has trained 500 candidates in year 1. The program entails placement assistance for the deserving candidates with the potential recruiters looking to hire for various job roles in Cyber Security. “Extended Learning Programme in Electronics & Communication Engineering” for First year Students

Extended Learning Programme was initiated for first year students in order to contribute to students’ progress and attainment. It plays a key role in extending the knowledge, understanding the skills that are developed in class and provides opportunities to consolidate enrich and extend their learning. The first session was conducted on 3rd July, 2021 and Dr. Sharath Kumar was the Resource Person.
Dr. Sharath Kumar received his PhD in Business Administration from Mangalore University and Bachelor’s in Electronics & Communication Engineering from National Institute of Engineering Mysore. He is an experienced Business and Technology leader with established credentials who has worked in various environments such as R&D, Manufacturing, Customer support, Technology management, Business Management, Product Management, Project/Program/ Release Management, Operations Management and in diverse sectors like Telecom, IT and Defense at different companies Bharat Electronics, Motorola, RCOM, JIO, Spice, BPL and TVS to name a few in his long career of 35 years. Since May 2020 he has superannuated and retired from Reliance Jio as CTO – Special Projects.
Dr. Sharath Kumar session was extremely informative and provided valuable insights on where the world is heading. His insight on 5G technologies, teleportation, futuristic science, how to be an entrepreneur, were fascinating. The level of interaction with students was limitless. Speakers’ methodology and well-explained approach made students feel so much better about the concepts. His points were precise, clear, and included numerous real-world examples. He responded to all of the questions in perfect length and with a high level of content.
