VTU Local Inspection Committee (LIC) conducted Virtual Verification Process

The LIC committee headed by Dr. M K Venkatesha, Principal, RNSIT, Bengaluru along with the Members - Prof. Vinayak Mutalik Desai, Professor, K.L.S.G.I.T, Belagavi; Dr. Gopalkrishna D Kamalapur, Professor, SDMCET, Dharwad and Convenor – Dr. Rashmi Rachh, Associate Professor, VTU, Belagavi conducted the Verification process virtually.
Dr. Rajesha S, Principal presented the achievements at the institute level and the respective Heads of the departments gave a presentation of Academics and other activities at department and course level.
The committee appreciated the various activities practiced by the institution, especially the academics and research activities carried out by faculty and students. The committee gave useful suggestions for the overall development of the institution.

Dr. Prabhu addresses India’s Largest Online Parenting Summit 2021 on Cyber Security

Cyber_Security Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering addressed 30 thousand parents on "Is Your Child Safeguarded against Digital Threats" at the India's Largest Online Parenting Summit, 2021.The panel discussion was organized by Godrej Security Solutions.
Online Parenting Summit (OPS) 2021 elaborates on various methods of parenting, a celebration of parenthood. The summit helps to reboot parenting and develop a friendly relationship between parents and their children. The concept of OPS is to create an impact on parents and their parenting styles.
The other panelists were Sneha Tapadia- Co Founder of Online Parenting Summit; Dr. Zirak Marker Child, Adolescent and Family Psychiatrist; Tanya Vatsa, Founder Mommy Diaries and Sushant Bhargava, AGM- Marketing, Godrej Security Solutions.

CSE Faculty participated as External Member for PhD RAC meeting conducted at Presidency University

Research_Advisory Dr. Shreyas Rao, Associate Professor, Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering, participated as an external member in the RAC (Research Advisory Committee) meeting for two PHD students of Presidency University, conducted in virtual mode on 22nd July, 2021. Dr. Shreyas provided technical comments for improvement of research work to Mr. Zafar Ali Khan and Mr. N. Karthik, both third year PhD students of Presidency University. They are pursuing research in the areas of Natural Language Processing and ML Optimization areas respectively.

Competitions offer a chance for participants to gain substantial experience, showcase skills, analyse and evaluate outcomes and uncover personal aptitude. Competitions also encourage students to adopt innovative techniques and develop their ideas and skills.
Achievements through competitions can leave great imprints on the resume. Competitions generally offer astounding financial benefits to the winners. A good amount of money can provide you a kick start for your future business plans, other constructive ideas or even take care of higher education. A mindset of continuous learning and growth is necessary for the war against mediocrity. Fortunately, competitions offer students the opportunity to push beyond the limits of past achievements and expose themselves to continuous innovation building a mindset of growth. They’ll also serve as a boost to your career and journey towards personal development.
Students are constantly comparing themselves to their peers. This is a fact of life that we cannot skip or stop. Comparison is encoded into human nature. It is a natural way of evaluating how we're doing on the things that matter to us. What we can change are the items on which we compare ourselves enhancing beneficial peer comparisons.
Some of the project competitions held in India are listed below:
Anveshana is a Science & Engineering competition which culminates into a Fair where the students will exhibit their projects/models.
This Competition will primarily involve undergraduate Engineering students and underprivileged school-going students where the students together will follow philosophies and practices of hands-on learning, research orientation, to make models based on Engineering-Science concepts. The Engineering Students will mentor school students in the creation of models while inducing knowledge and confidence in them.
VIVID 2020 is a National Level Project Competition for IT/CSE and ECE, organized by SSN College of Engineering to encourage students to apply their knowledge, skill, passion, and creativity to technology solutions that can make a difference to the world today.
IBM Hack Challenge 2020 is a mega hackathon hosted by IBM at the pan India level. It is an opportunity to showcase coding talent, learn new technologies and build an efficiently working solution. The hackathon is open to all the passionate engineering students in the country.
