Deputy GM-HR, John Cockerill India Limited, engages class for MBAs on Training & Development

Mr_Srikanth Mr. Srikanth Kalyanasundaram, Deputy General Manager- HR, John Cockerill India Limited, Mumbai, Member of Leaders Excellence @ Harvard Square, engaged the first year MBA students on Subject Name – Human Resource Management related to “Training & Development”. He referred to training as a reactive process. As a Trainer you have to monitor and provide feedback. He also highlighted the significance of in-house training in corporate sector. In his address, he emphasized on the scope of Training and Development in industries.

Dept. of Business Administration in Association with 'Association of British Scholars', Mumbai organized a Webinar on the topic "Digital Technology: The Next Frontier in Healthcare Delivery in Post-Covid India" on 8th Jul 2021.
Ms. Pompy Sridhar- India Director, MSD For Mothers, (Subsidiary of Merck & Co Inc) was the resource person and the session was moderated by Mr. Raman Madhok, Managing Director, Kahani Design Works and advisor to Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management.
Ms. Pompy began the session with giving insight into how Covid lockdown impacted the health service especially the maternal health care. She explained as to how with the introduction of digital innovation in medical health care services, we can achieve universal health coverage in India. In her address she spoke about the challenges faced by the country to achieve the universal health care goal that is Availability, Accessibility, Affordability and Quality.
Ms. Pompy shared her 2 decade long experience being in insurance and healthcare sector. She informed the participants as to how Govt. of India is taking efforts to digitize health care services with the introduction of Telemedicine, National Digital Health Mission, Digital India Mission and Aadhar. Ms. Pompy urged students’ to participate in these community initiatives to address the healthcare need of the society at large.
Mr. Raman Madhok, the moderator of the session along with resource person addressed the queries raised by the participants and appreciated the effort taken up by Sahyadri in terms of Social Innovation Programme to address some of these issues.

Mr. Santosh and Mr. Jagadeesh from District Central Prison, Mangaluru visited the Digital Forensics Intelligence and Cyber Security CoE of Sahyadri and interacted with the Faculty members and Members of CoE. They appreciated the facility setup at the Centre.

Dr. Prabhu Delivers a Webinar on Technology in Education

Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, Professor in the Dept. of Computer Science & Engineering was invited to deliver a lecture on Technology in Education. More than 5500+ faculty members from all over the country had registered for the One-Week National level FDP organized by Govt. First Grade College for Women, IQAC cell in association with St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru.
Dr. Prabhu spoke about the latest tools available that can aid to engage more impactful lectures. He also threw light upon blended learning, handling adversities and techniques to engage the participants. He also created awareness about the relevant Cyber Laws and Cyber Security aspects to avoid instances like Zoombombing.

Sukanya_Rao Dr. Sukanya Rao, Associate Professor, Dept. of Business Administration was one of the Resource Persons at ‘RENAISSANCE THE O VERSION’ organized by Mahatma Gandhi Memorial (MGM) College, Udupi on 8th July 2021. She spoke on the topic ‘Moving out of Comfort Zone’ to the students of Final year B.Com (Vocation). She demonstrated few NLP techniques to help the students move out of their comfort zones, set SMART goals and achieve them.

Internet of Things! The scope for the future

Have you ever gone to the store and forgotten to turn off your air conditioner, fan, or lamp and felt helpless that you couldn't return home to turn it off? This is where the Internet of Things (IoT) enters the picture. It will serve as a reminder for essential activities that you often forget. You can also use the smartphone application to connect your IoT-enabled home appliances from anywhere in the world.
IoT or the Internet of Things is primarily a full system of all the interconnected computing devices, having all the mechanical and digital machines. When the objects or the living beings have the UIDs or the Unique Identification, IoT and IoT application can transfer the data automatically without including the human to human interaction and human to computer interaction in between.
Applications: The Internet of Things (IoT) has risen to prominence as a global technology. It has grown in popularity in a short period. Moreover, advances in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have made IoT device automation easy. In general, AI and machine learning programs are paired with IoT devices to provide proper automation. As a result, the Internet of Things (IoT) has broadened its field of application in healthcare for reducing treatment errors, cost of treatment and availability specialist in remote locations. This is also widely used in Agriculture, smart education, automobiles, smart roadways etc..
Opportunities in IoT: India, as a developing world, has immense IoT potential. According to Naukri.com, India's future potential for IoT is enormous, with 117,114 work opportunities for IoT Developers. In contrast, in the United States, demand for an IoT Developer has increased by more than 300 percent.
Salary of IoT Developers: In terms of compensation, an IoT Developer in the United States earns an average of US$164,417 a year. The average annual wage in India is 850k. This is an exciting package with which to begin your career.
