Interns of DTi Labz Private Limited Win in Idea Pitching Event organized by TiE, Mysuru

webinar webinar Interns of DTilabz Private Limited participated in the Idea Pitching Event organized by TiE, Mysuru and won 2nd place among hundreds of start-ups from all over Karnataka.
The interns pitched the product Agri Node which is an IoT based farm monitoring and controlling system. The product has the potential application in Poly House Farming to maintain the controlled environment.
Mr. Dhanush M., Mr. Harshith Kumar, Mr. Pushparaj A. and Mr. Ramkishor K. from the Dept. of Electronics & Communication, participated in this event. The Event included total 3 rounds all of which were Online. The interns had to prepare business plan for which the mentoring session was conducted weekly by the event organizers.
TiE, a global Non-profit organization devoted to entrepreneurs in all industries and at all stages from incubation throughout the entrepreneurial life-cycle, organised TiE Pitch fest — a pitching competition for university students and student entrepreneurs for a chance of winning investment.

Paint Booth with Water Screen Designed & Built by Sahyadrians

caliper Caliper, an In-house Industry offered a Design & Development Consultancy Project titled "Paint Booth with Water Screen" to Faculty & students of Dept. of Mechanical Engineering. Grabbing the opportunity, Prof. Rakshith & Prof. Abhishek along with students designed and developed the project in less than 2 weeks’ time.
Caliper has now successfully installed the paint booth with water screen to reduce the air pollution and expressed their complete satisfaction of the functioning.
Covid Lockdown brought yet another learning experience to Sahyadrians.

Leadership Talk Series with CEO, Akshaya Patra Foundation, was organized by MHRD - IIC

leadership_talk A Webinar on Leadership Talk Series was organized by MHRD - Institution Innovation Cell, with Mr. Shridhar Venkat, CEO, Akshaya Patra Foundation, a Graduate of Advanced Management Program from The Wharton School – University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Dr. Abhay Jere, Chief Innovation Officer, MHRD Innovation Cell was the moderator.
The discussion between Dr Abhay and Mr. Shridhar revolved round the topic of Akshaya Patra. The idea of starting this scheme could be traced back when Swami Prabhu Pa, built Lord Krishna Temple in Kolkata. Mr. Shridhar quoted Swamy Pa to have said “When the father is there no one should go hungry.” So that is how this scheme started.
Mr. Shridhar said Akshaya Patra is the first to have a centralized kitchen which became a role model to many. On Frugal Innovation, he stated that when they started to feed North India, they came up with new innovations. Students were encouraged to come for internships in Akshaya Patra.
Finally, Mr. Shridhar stated that they also have plans to work with the UN and WHO.

Faculty of the Dept of Mechanical Engineering publishes a Research Paper in Scopus Indexed Journal

shankar_murthy A Research Paper by Prof. Shankara Murthy H.M., Dept. of Mechanical Engineering titled “Investigations on thermal characteristics in a double pipe fitted with circular finned and frequently spaced helical twisted inserts and Graphene oxide nanofluid” is published in the Journal Heat and Mass Transfer, Springer Publications.
The Journal is abstracted and indexed in Science Citation Index (SCI), Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Scopus with an Impact Factor of 1.6.
The Paper deals with experimental investigations on the Influence of Combined Passive Technique on heat transfer, friction factor, and thermal performance factor in a Double Pipe Heat Exchanger (DPHE) fitted with different turbulators and GO-Water nanofluid.

Faculty of the Dept of Mechanical Engineering Publishes Research Paper in European Journal of Sustainable Development Research

reasearch_paper A Research Article titled “Evaluation of Performance and Emission Characteristics of Diesel Engine Fuelled with Garcinia Gummi Gutta Biodiesel and Diethyl Ether Blends”, authored by Prof. Ajith B.S., Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, is published in the European Journal of Sustainable Development Research.
The work reported in this Paper was supported by Visveswaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, related to Competitive Research Grant (Reference: VTU/TEQIP 3/2019/321) under TEQIP Program.

Campus Recruitment Drive - SAP Labs

sap SAP Labs conducted a Campus Recruitment Drive on 23rd June 2020. The hiring was for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communications Engineering students graduating in the year 2021. The assessment was web proctored and taken up by the students from their home premises. The duration of online assessment was for 90 minutes.
The Selection Process involved an Online Assessment followed by Coding Challenge along with a Technical interview. Post completion of this, there would be a technical discussion with the panel and finally the HR Interview. The selection process is online mode. Results are awaited.
The Scholar@SAP program lets the student work for an organization that will open doors for them through a work and study opportunity with SAP.
