Bhavyashri J. with 83.33% has topped the Sahyadri College in the Semester VIII Computer Science & Engineering Examination of 2013-14 held by VTU. Ashwitha C. Thomas, Bindiya M. V. and Sowmya obtained the second position in the college with 80.40% each. Out of one hundred and twenty students who sat for the examination, seventy-five secured a first class with distinction and thirty-seven students a second class, bringing the overall percentage score of the department to 93.30%.

 Mr. Steven Lawrence Fernandes has joined the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering as an Assistant Professor. He obtained his B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Canara Engineering College, Mangalore and post-graduate M.Tech. degree in Microelectronics from MIT, Manipal. His area of specialisation is Image Processing. He has registered for a doctoral degree in 2012 from Karunya University and has published more than seven international journals.
