AICTE sponsored FDP concludes

Prof. R Hariharan, Advisor - AICTE was a part of the Valedictory ceremony of the Three-Day AICTE Sponsored Faculty Development Programme for ‘Student Induction Programme’. While addressing the gathering he spoke on Model Curriculum for the first year, Internships, Faculty induction programme, Exam reforms and also about creating a common platform for engineering aspirants. He also shared his views on responsibility of faculty members to inspire the students and take care of students with diversified mind. He went around the campus and appreciated the efforts of management on the infrastructure and start-ups. Few faculty participants had an opportunity to share their experience on the three-day FDP. Mr. Sanjeev Chopra also shared his experience of the three-day long event at Sahyadri. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Director-Strategy & Planning and was presided by Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal & Mr. Ramesh A N, Assistant Director AICTE.

Sahyadri to Collaborate with NASSCOM India

Team from Sahyadri headed by Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA and Mr. Guru Prasad Rao, Dean-Branding & Promotion had a fruitful interaction with Mr. Ashok Pamidi, Senior Director & Lead Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives, NASSCOM India, the result of which has led to the launch of NASSCOM certification programmes in Sahyadri Campus.

NASSCOM India is a not-for-profit industry association which is the apex body for the 154 billion dollar Indian IT BPM industry. NASSCOM works with diverse stakeholders to build focussed-initiatives that enables the growth of the sector through policy advocacy, skill building, research, start-up programmes, facilitate business and increase industry outreach.

The collaboration will result in launching certification programmes in Sahyadri campus focussing on the recent trends in the Engineering and Management Domain.

The students will be certified jointly by NASSCOM, Govt of India and National Skill Development Corporation (NSC).

MDP on ‘Application of NLP and Transactional Analysis in Human Resource Management’ for MBAs

Department of Business Administration organized a Management Development Programme (MDP) for the HR specialization students on the topic “Application of NLP and Transactional Analysis in Human Resource Management”. Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Certified NLP Practitioner and Student Psycho-Social Counsellor facilitated the training on the basics of Neuro-Linguistic Programming, its techniques and uses. He explained the concepts of Transactional Analysis which included Structure analysis, Life scripts and positions, strokes and stamps, Psychological games people play, Time structuring, T-groups, Encounter groups and appreciative enquiry techniques. He addressed the students about the relationship between the thought, patterns of behaviours and response in an interpersonal relationship.

• International Yoga Day Celebration
June 21st is observed as the International Yoga Day all over the world. To commemorate this day Sahyadri will be organizing a talk on “YOGA FOR DAILY LIFE” on 21st June, 2018 at 11:00am in Nethravathi Auditorium.
Shri Kushalappa Gowda, M.Sc. in Yogic Sciences, Yoga Consultant and Therapist, Founder of Avishkar Yoga Therapy Centre, Mangaluru will be addressing the gathering and demonstrating some of the basic techniques of relaxation and Pranayama. We invite all the faculty, non-teaching staff and students to attend the programme and get the benefit of the greatest science invented by India.

• Two-Day PGCET Training at Sahyadri
MBA Department is organizing a Two-Day PGCET Training during June 21st – 22nd 2018 (Thu-Fri) as a community initiative to support MBA aspirants pursue MBA in Top B-Schools of Karnataka under Government seat. Experts from both industry and academia will conduct the training on the four areas of PGCET. Mock test will be conducted during the training to enable the students score high marks. Additionally, counselling sessions are also given to all participants to write PGCET conducted by the Government of Karnataka. A total of 350 MBA aspirants have registered for the training.
