Interaction Programme on Engineering Admission and CET Process Interaction Programme on Engineering Admission and CET Process An Interaction Programme on Engineering Admission and CET Process was held in the campus, in order to help students and their parents to get clarity about the overall CET procedures.

Dr. Ananth Prabhu, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering; Mr. Sacheth Suvarna, Chief Nodal Officer, CET Helpline, Mangaluru Centre; and Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal, were the resource persons.

Dr. Ananth Prabhu spoke about Future Skills and Engineering. He explained about the different branches of studies and their scope of employment. He added that what one learns today may become outdated after a certain period of time. Hence one has to constantly upgrade and update one’s skills. The next session of the Day was on KEA and Government Seat allotment facilitated by Mr. Sacheth Suvarna – Chief Nodal Officer, CET Helpline Centre. He spoke about eligibility and also about basic details like caste reservation, income/caste certificates and the criteria for minorities and SC/ST students. He placed great emphasis on Option Entry.

The session was concluded with a question and answer round where students and parents alike came up with several queries and all the queries were correctly addressed.

Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal took up the last session on Option Entry. While Mr. Suvarna covered most of the topic, Principal threw some light on Option Entry choices. He explained about college-wise, branch-wise and course-wise entries. He also explained about the fee structure. Overall, the participants found the sessions comprehensive, rich in content and useful.

Introduction of Mentor:

Mr. Krupaksha H.K. is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. He received B.E Degree in Civil Engineering from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore and M.Tech in Transportation Engineering and Management from JNN College of Engineering, Shimoga. He has 3 years of teaching experience. He has published 4 international journals and presented one international conference Paper. He worked as NAAC Coordinator for the Department of Civil Engineering. He has completed two short term training programs at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. He has worked as coordinator for workshop on “Industry Pollution Control” sponsored by Karnataka State Pollution Control Board. His areas of interests are Traffic Engineering, Highway Engineering, Road Safety, Pavement Management System, Urban Transport Planning and Sustainability in Transport Planning

Introduction of Mentees:
• Yashashwini R.N. is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Besant English medium school in Mangaluru. PUC in SHARDA PU college Mangalore. Hobbies include dancing, gardening, listening songs. She has participated in many cultural programs. She aspires to become a successful environmental engineering.
• Narendra S. is from Hosanagara. He pursued his high school from Govt. High School Maruthipura and Diploma in Govt Polytechnic, Siddapura. His hobbies include playing cricket, reading novels, singing and acting. He has participated in drama and cricket tournaments and won prizes. His aspiration is to become good actor.
• Nishanth Rai P. is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from Sri Ramakunjeshwara English Medium High School Ramakunja and PUC in Sri Ramakunjeshwara PU College Ramakunja, Mangalore. His hobbies include playing Kabaddi, volleyball and listening to music. He has participated in various Kabaddi tournaments and has won prizes. He aspires to become a successful Architect.
• Sharath Kumar K. is from Kalkoppa. He pursued his high school from GHPS Idulalli, High School in GHS and PUC in GPUC, Barur. His hobbies are sports, dancing and playing Tabla. He has participated in state level dance competition. He secured second place in Tabla exams He aspires to become a CEO.
• Keerthan H.G. is from Sagar. He pursued his high school from Pragathi Composite School and PUC in Government PU College, Sagar. His hobbies are playing cricket, dance and music. He aspires to become an army officer.
• Rohith J. Hosamani is from Dharwad. He pursued his high school from Dharshini Composite High School and BGS PU College, Sringeri and PUC from Expert PU College, Mangalore. His hobbies include playing cricket, listening to music. He aspires to become a police officer. He has participated in drawing competition at district level.
• Alemmath Nissa K. from Kottiyadi. She pursued her high school from Majlis English Medium Higher Secondary School, Kasaragod and PUC in Nehru Memorial Pre-University College, Sullia. Her hobbies are reading, watching TV and listening to songs. She participated in various competitions like essay writing and won prizes. She aspires to become a successful structural engineer.
