IEEE Student Branch organizes Webinar on “Next Gen Microprocessors”
The IEEE Student Branch of Sahyadri organized a webinar on “Next Gen Microprocessors.” The resource person for the event was Mr. Siddharth Adyanthaya, Hardware Engineer, Qualcomm, Bengaluru. Mr. Siddharth spoke about earlier generation microprocessors like System on Board (SoB) to present trend System on Chip (SoC) transition along with its various functionalities and performance. SoC is more powerful than the simple microprocessor. He also discussed the System-On-Chip design trends from IP integration to system Integration, its benefits, and various applications. He also mentioned about various challenges in developing SoC and IPs in SoC. He concluded the webinar by giving the overview of the SoC verification process. More than One Hundred students of the ECE, ISE and CSE Departments participated in the event.
Mechanical Engineering Department organized a Guest Lecture series for the Second-Year students
Dr. Vijay Desai, Professor, Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, NITK Surathkal handled a Guest Lecture on the topic “Mechanical Working of Metals”. He has over 27 years of experience in Teaching, Training and Research. He has published several research articles in National and International journals and successfully guided 3 Ph.D students.
Highlights of his lecture includes the importance of forging in the field of Mechanical Engineering, where he discussed about the significance and applications of composite materials used in the different sectors and criteria for selection of materials. He also emphasized on importance of multi-disciplinary approach in studies for carrier development.
MBA Faculty completes ATAL FDP on “Structural Equation Modelling”
Prof. Sushma V, Dept. of Business Administration has completed the Five-Day AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy Online Elementary Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Structural Equation Modelling” organized by Manipal Institute of Management, MAHE, Manipal held during 17th May to 21st May 2021. She is currently pursuing her Ph.D from VTU, Belagavi and Training programmes like these enhance her knowledge in Data Analysis for her research work.
