Workshop on "UI Design with Figma" organized by Mozilla Club and Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC)

UI_Design1 An online workshop on "UI Design with Figma" was organized and volunteered by Mozilla Club and Sahyadri Open Source Community (SOSC) on 5th June 2021. The workshop was aimed at teaching the students the basics of UI/UX design using Figma.
The session was facilitated by Mr. Jihad Mohamed, who is currently working as a Designer at Mobstac and is also the Ex-Captain of Mozilla Club and Co-design head at SOSC.
The workshop saw participation from over 93 enthusiastic students, contributing to the success of the event. At the end of the session, participants were asked to submit their own UI design for which the best design was rewarded. Design Challenge Results are as follows:

Research Article of ISE Faculty Accepted for Publication in Inderscience Journal

IGI_Global A Research Article titled "Prognostic Reasoning Model for Early Diabetes Prediction using Effective Data Analytics Approach" authored by Prof. Rithesh Pakkala P, Dept. of Information Science & Engineering and Dr. Shamanth Rai, Head of Dept. of Information Science & Engineering has been accepted for publication in International Journal of Medical Engineering and Informatics. The journal is published by Inderscience, and it is indexed by Scopus in the Q4 quartile with citescore of 0.9.

Student Counsellor invited as a Resource Person by Trisha Institution, Bengaluru

Mr. Ankith S Kumar, the Student Counsellor, was invited as a resource person by Trisha Institutions, Bengaluru to conduct a session on "Mindfulness for Mental Well-Being" for the degree students of their Bengaluru branch. Mr. Ankith S Kumar spoke on the various aspects of Mindfulness and the methods of practicing it. He also demonstrated simple relaxation techniques. More than 150 students participated in the session.

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering, Sahyadri and USAM Technology Solutions Pvt Ltd, in association with Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME), Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC) and FLAMES-Mechanical Engineering Students Association is organizing a workshop for faculty on “Autodesk Fusion 360 – Leading with Generative Design” during 10th to 11th June 2021 from 2.00pm to 4.30pm which is a Hands-On session through Zoom platform.
The workshop includes topics related to:
• Introduction to Autodesk Fusion 360 and how it supports collaboration and distance learning.
• Building a curriculum that helps today’s students land those engineering jobs.
• Latest trends and shifts in the design & manufacturing industry, including the Future of Work.
