Concluding Day of GPL Utsav 2021 in Sahyadri Campus

GPL Utsav 2021 has come to an end and the Valedictory ceremony was featured as a royal event adorning various eminent personalities distributing the Trophies and Prizes to the winning teams.
‘Mumbai Paltans’ have emerged as the Winners and ‘Volalanke Fighters Mulki’ as Runners Up in the GSB Premier League 2021.

A Three-Day Outbound Training organized for MBAs at Nature Bound Sahyadri Camp, Ankola

A total of 173 students along with 6 faculty members participated in the "Outbound Experimental Business Management Training Module" at 'Nature Bound Sahyadri Camp' in Ankola. The course was organized for value forming experiences through adventure and challenge, Compassion and Service, Learning through experience, and social and environmental responsibility.
The course facilitated experiences through action and activity-based behavioral training for individual development based on experimental learning methodology of "learning by doing", "hands on experience" and it included outdoor activities, adventure, team building activities that engaged all the campers to bring out the desired learning outcomes.

The whole-day events included scavenging, mind field, navigation using navigation compass and maps, communication and adventure. It included a briefing about the individual experiences and learning, through presentations where they were teaching how the presentation should focus on Expressing rather than Impressing. The team had to also brief about their team strategy, team dynamics, smart work and innovative thinking.
Outbound_Training_mba The students had to overcome all the challenges put forth on them and push themselves out of their comfort zone and perform to the best of their abilities to reach new heights and improve their logical thinking. The students returned with positive feedback about the change in their thinking and attitude to stay away from electronic gadgets. This course has bought a change in the students’ personal and professional behavioral patterns and helped them to know how the theories and principles studied in a classroom can be reinforced practically.

Team Challengers emerged as the winners of SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2020 (Hardware addition) under the category of Ministry of Health & Family Welfare

winners_of_SMART_INDIA_HACKATHON_2020 Team Challengers has added yet another accolade to their mantle by emerging as the winners of SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2020 (Hardware addition) under the category of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of the pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset to solve problems and is organized by MHRD, Govt. of India & AICTE.
The team consisting of Srujan U and Jaison D'souza from fourth year Computer Science & Engineering; Manish ES and Swathi from fourth year Electronics & Communication Engineering; Pranav Satish and Jeevan K from third year Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Sohan M Rai from first year, achieved this feat.
The team received the problem statement on Medicine delivery using UAV in hilly regions from the Department of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The team came up with an innovative solution by developing an autonomous hybrid VTOL aircraft with a folding wing configuration, which is efficient for last-mile delivery of medicines in rural and remote areas. The team has also built a prototype of the solution demonstrating all the features of the aircraft through a virtual presentation and submitted a detailed report enumerating the various operations that went into the conceptualization and design of the model aircraft to achieve this feat.
Team Challengers is a unique technical hub that provides massive opportunities in various fields like Aero-modeling, Aerial, and Ground Robotics thus helping students boost their technical skills.

Campus Recruitment Drive -

UniCourt

unicourt Mangalore Infotech (Unicourt) hosted the Pre-placement talk for the Engineering students from 2021 outgoing batch as a part of the virtual Campus Recruitment drive. The pre-placement talk began with an introduction to Unicourt, their growth prospects, Internship opportunities, Perks and Benefits. Mr. Ryan Lobo and Ms. Ananya Hebbar carried out the presentation followed by a Q&A session for clarifying the doubts of participants. The Talk was followed by the Selection process. Hiring is for the role of Software Developer and Quality Analyst. The package offered is INR 4.2 Lakhs Per Annum.

unicourt Ms. Deepti Vashisht – Senior Manager Technology on behalf of Clarivate hosted the Pre-placement talk for the Engineering students as a part of their virtual Campus Recruitment drive. Clarivate is looking at diversity hires from the 2021 outgoing batch. The online assessment would be followed by the Technical and HR rounds of interview.
