In commemoration of International Women's Day, Sahyadri NSS Unit and Sahyadri Women's Cell organized a Session on "Self-Care and Grooming for Women" by Mrs. Mercy Veena D'Souza, Professional Beauty Therapist and Founder of Mercy Beauty Academy, Mangaluru. Mrs. Mercy shared her life experience and her journey into the beauty industry and how she managed to build her own Academy. She encouraged the women to explore their potentials and never give up on any opportunity that will help them grow. She gave some important beauty and health tips for hair and skin care and also spoke about dressing etiquette and grooming. All the women teaching and non-teaching staff attended the session.

A Nine-day Survey Camp organised for 3rd Year Civil Engineering students

A Nine-day Survey Camp program is in progress for the Pre-Final year students by the Civil Engineering Department from 8-03-2021 to 17-03-2021. The camp is being conducted in and around the Sahyadri Campus consisting of various projects like Highway Project, Water Supply & Sanitation Project, New Tank Project, and Restoration of Old tank. The primary objective of this program is to promote knowledge for different surveying techniques relevant to their professional and real work practice in civil engineering. Further, the camp also would help students at acquiring teamwork & leadership skills. The event started with an address by Prof. Hemanth Prabhu, Head of the Department, wherein he gave an insight into the Importance of Survey Camp to the students and explained the practical aspects pertaining to various projects. Mrs.Smitha, Survey Camp Officer gave all the instructions required for the execution of the projects. Each project starts with a demonstration of the respective projects given by various project heads and followed by the execution of works by students. A total of 129 students are being benefitted from the program.

Sahyadri NSS Unit and Sahyadri Women's Cell in association with GlobalHunt Foundation, Bengaluru and Unicharm, New Delhi conducted an Awareness programme on "Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management" for the girls of first year engineering. Ms Ankita, CSR Executive, Unicharm India conducted the session on Menstrual health. She explained puberty, the menstrual cycle and how hygiene can be managed. More than 200 students participated in the programme.
