Skill Development Training facilitated by the MBAs at Shree Amrutheshwara Higher Primary School, Vamanjoor “Confidence comes from Discipline and Training” said Robert Kiyosaki. To put this thought into action, students of MBA Department under the guidance of Prof. Padmanabha B trained students of class sixth and seventh of Shree Amrutheshwara Higher Primary School, Vamanjoor for their skill development. Activities like Memory Test, Blind Fold, Puzzles, Word Identification, Walk and Stop, Talent Hunt were conducted which brought out team work, enhanced the level of concentration, communication skill and creativity.

Skill Development Training facilitated by the MBAs at Shree Amrutheshwara Higher Primary School, Vamanjoor The learning outcome has not only centred on the school children but also the MBA students who had extraordinary experience apart from routine classes. As a token of appreciation, school children were awarded with stationery. After conducting each activity participants were asked to share the learning’s from each activity which stimulated children to speak with confidence. Students were also given a forum to exhibit their talent by performing dance, folk song etc.

Dr. Ramanagouda S Patil has joined the Department of Computer Science Engineering as a Professor. He has completed his B.E in SLNCE, Raichur & M.Tech in SJCE, Mysore. His area of specialization is Networking Mobile Communication.

Sahyadri Research Scientists Visit TIFR on National Science Day

Sahyadri Research Scientists Visit TIFR on National Science Day Sahyadri Research Scientist team including Prof. Richard Pinto, Dr. Niraj Joshi and Prof. Karkera visited TIFR on 28th February 2017 - National Science Day. They had intense discussion with Prof. Dr. Döhler Gottfried, Max Planck Institute (MPI), Germany about a collaborative research paper on THz WGM under DST project. Sahyadri research students - Arjun Rao and Rashmi K R along with IITB PhD student Ms. Cijy Mathai were present during the discussion. Sahyadri Research Scientist team then visited Prof. Pratap Raychaudhuri's Superconductivity lab. Prof. Pratap was one of the PhD students of Prof. Richard Pinto. During the visit, Mr. Vivas Bagwe showed the PLD system which is same as the one bought by Sahyadri management at CENT. TIFR has large number of research equipment, but has less lab space. Research team had discussion on the important takeaways to be implemented in the upgradation of the PLD system at CENT.

Workshop on Java Application Development organised by CSE Department

Workshop on Java Application Development organised by CSE Department A workshop on Java Application Development was facilitated by Mr. Suhas, Junior Develops Engineer, Diya Systems, Mr. Vivek, Associate Director, IIHT and Ms. Arpitha, Software Trainer, IIHT for 6th Semester CSE students. The students were intimated with the role of Java in the software industry and were encouraged to take up Android Application development. Students gained hands-on-experience in MySql and NetBeans IDE. They were also introduced to web technologies.

Awareness programme on Industrial Automation and IOT by Technologics, Bengaluru

Mr. Sagar Chakraborty, Techsnical Alliance Manager of Technologics facilitated an awareness programme on Industrial Automation and Internet of Things. Around 200 Electronics & Communication students from final year and pre-final year were present. Dr. Jose Alex Mathew introduced the resource person to the staff and students. Mr. Sagar delivered a talk on PLC, SCADA, Man/Human Machine Interface (HMI), Variable frequency drive (VFD), Field Instruments and Pneumatic Systems (FIP), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Building Management Systems (BMS) and IOT.
