Seventeen Sahyadrians are recruited by Karvy India

Soumya, Neha S Phulase & Rachana S Alva from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Anush V Pai, Chandrika & Preemal Varsha Pinto from the Department of Information Science & B Vanishree Rao & Manjula R from the Department of Mechanical Engineering were selected by Karvy India in the recently held Campus Recruitment Drive.

Toastmasters of Mangaluru conduct a Demo Meeting at Sahyadri

Toastmasters of Mangaluru came forward to give a demo at Sahyadri of how a Toastmasters meeting is conducted based on the guidelines and standards set by Toastmasters International. TM Sagnik Biswas of the Infosys Toastmasters Club, Mangaluru SEZ was the Toastmaster of the Day. The speakers were TM Vineeth K from NITK Toastmasters Club and TM Aatish Prabhu from the Milagres Toastmasters Club. Their speeches were evaluated by TM Preetham Kamath, a dual member from the Porttown Advanced Toastmasters Club and Winners Club, and TM Shwetha Dsouza from the Winners Club. The other role takers were TM Savitha Salian as General Evaluator, Distinguished TM Bharathi Shevgoor as Grammarian, TM Brian Fernandes as Table topics Master, all dual members from Porttown Advanced Toastmasters Club and Winners Club, TM Divyashree Gatti from Mangaluru Toastmasters Club and TM Madhura, a member from Inspiron Toastmasters Club. They gave an introduction to each of their roles and demonstrated it in the meeting. The meeting was well attended by about 300 students, staff and faculty of both MBA and Engineering. They also participated in the Table topics. TM Aatish Prabhu was adjudged the Best speaker, TM Preetham Kamath, the best evaluator and Mr. Samarth Shenoy, best table topic speaker. The students, staff and faculty applauded the toastmasters and participants and have expressed interest in starting a Toastmasters club in Sahyadri.

Sahyadri Whiz Quiz Prelims at full swing in Mangaluru, Udupi & Karkala

Prof. Ramesh K G, Prof. Ridhvika Shetty & Prof. Gayathri Shetty along with student volunteers administered the College Level Sahyadri Whiz Quiz 2018 in Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangaluru, Raymonds College, Mangaluru, Trisha College, Udupi & Dr. NSAM First Grade College, Nitte, Karkala. A total of 20 teams of 3 each have been selected for the Grand Finale.

An Alumna of Civil Engineering Department speaks to the students

Priya Javalagi (2013-2017 Batch) presently working as QA Engineer at ABC Indus Projects, Hubli interacted with the second year Civil Engineering Students. She shared her experience of joining the core company. She advised students to completely utilize the opportunities provided from college such as Aptitude Training, GATE coaching, Internships etc. She encouraged students to select industry oriented projects right from second year and also suggested students to qualify GATE exam and to apply for openings in Public Sectors.

Sahyadri Whiz Quiz Grand Finale 2018
Dept. of Business Administration is organizing ‘Sahyadri Whiz Quiz', an inter-collegiate quiz competition on 9th March 2018, Friday in Sahyadri Campus. This event is for undergraduates to create a fun-filled atmosphere for learning and acquiring general knowledge about current events in business world. The main aim of the event is to motivate students to bring themselves up-to-date with the latest news and other emerging developments in the areas of Business History, Marketing, HR Finance and Indian Economy. A total of 7,000 students participated in the first round of quiz, out of which 950 students are selected for final round of quiz during the Grand Finale.

Mr. Kamakhaya Prashad Aggarwal, Business Head – Karnataka and Goa, HDFC Ltd will be the Chief Guest & Mr. Pradeep Suresh, Director – Financial Accounting Advisory Services, E&Y Associates LLP would be the Guest of Honour of the Inaugural programme. The winners will be awarded with cash prizes Rs. 25000/-, Rs.15000/- and Rs.10000/- First, Second and Third Prize winners respectively.
