The flagship event Whiz Quiz-2019 organized by the Department of Business Administration saw a fabulous Grand Finale at the campus with more than 950 students from 48 UG colleges visiting our campus to participate in the event.   Students from the First Year engineering participated in the Three-Day event held in the city of Fort Worth, North Central Texas. Mr. Manjunatha Bhandary, Chairman, who is on a visit, accompanied the students to this event.

  Our Students and faculty participated in the CII Knowledge Summit and received appreciation from the Chairman of Mindtree for their exceptional teamwork and participation during the summit.

Train the Trainer Session on ‘POSH’ for the MBA-HR Students

IoT & Embedded System Exhibition at Sahyadri Ms. Shipra Rai, HR - Diversity & Inclusion (Corporate Support) from Mphasis Pvt Ltd, Mangaluru facilitated a Train the Trainer Session on ‘POSH’ – Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Workplace, for the students of MBA-HR specialization. Shipra has now diversified to be a Woman Entrepreneur owning Spindrift & Thyme Restaurant in Mangaluru along with her career as an HR.

Sahyadrians participate at the CII Knowledge Summit 2019

IoT & Embedded System Exhibition at Sahyadri The two-day CII Knowledge Summit 2019 – ‘Reimagining the Knowledge Enterprise’ was held at the Hotel Taj West End, Bengaluru. The Summit was well attended by over 170 delegates from across 70 companies practicing Knowledge Management in their companies as well as academicians. Dr. Molly Chaudhuri, Dean HR and also a member of CII- Knowledge Management Core group compered the entire event. Nine students from under the guidance of Mr. Johnson Tellis were the rapporteurs and handled the entire photos, videos and social media for this event. They were well appreciated by the Chairman of Mindtree, Mr. Krishnakumar Natarajan, also the Chairperson of CII Knowledge Summit as well as by the organizers and delegates for their excellent work over the two days.

The highlight of the Summit was the India MIKE (Most Innovative Knowledge Enterprise) award which was won by Afcons Infrastructure Ltd; Infosys; Wipro; Mindtree and Tata Chemicals Ltd. All the CKOs of these organizations shared their best practices and their KM journey. The student team who participated in this event were: Sagar K Devadiga - 4th year Mechanical Engineering; Gagandeep B - 3rd year Electronics & Communication Engineering; Ananya Bangera - 1st year - E section; Shibani Pinto - 2nd year Computer Science & Engineering; Abhishek Mallya - 1st year - K section; Gaurav B L - 1st year - K section; Shreyas C - 1st year - C section; Nirmal George Mathew - 1st year - A section and Ashwitha Jathan - 4th year Computer Science & Engineering.

Extensive Survey Camp 2018-19 concluded at Ishwaramangala, Puttur

IoT & Embedded System Exhibition at Sahyadri Extensive Survey Camp at Ishwaramangala for the third year Civil Engineering students concluded with a Valedictory ceremony. Mr. Shivaram P, Managing Trust, Dharmashree Prathisthana, Hanimagiri and Mr. Shivaram Sharma, Managing Trust, Dharmashree Prathisthana, Hanimagiri were the chief guest of the valedictory function. During the Valedictory address, Mr. Shivaram motivated students to take up the inputs from the camp seriously and utilize the learnings effectively. Prof. Hemant Prabhu, Associate Professor congratulated the students for successfully completing the Survey Camp and also appreciated Prof. Anil Kumar N S and Prof. Navyashree B R, Department of Civil Engineering, the Survey Camp Officer for the well-organized camp. Prof. Sunil Kumar K, HOD, Department of Civil Engineering advised the students to take away the positivity inculcated in them during the course of the camp for the future of their engineering career.

Student Counsellor invited as a resource person by Puttur Taluk Panchayat Office

IoT & Embedded System Exhibition at Sahyadri Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor was invited as a resource person to address the students of BCM hostel during the one day workshop on “Preparation for Competitive Exams,” organized by the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat in association with Puttur Taluk Panchayat and Backward Community Welfare Department, Puttur Taluk. The workshop was organized for the students to provide information about various Competitive Exams like IAS, IPS, IBPS and various other exams.

Introduction of Mentor:

Mr. Sharathchandra N.R. is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication for the past 8 years. He completed his Bachelor of Engineering from JNNCE, Shimoga and M.Tech from NMAMIT, Nitte. His area of expertise is Computer Networking, Robotics and Communication. He has published more than eight Papers in international journals. Presently, he is pursuing Ph.D in the field of Communication. His aspiration is to excel in the field of communication and to achieve greater heights in teaching and research.

• Ms. Bindiya D. Rao is from Belthangady. She pursued her high school from SDM CBSE High School and PUC from SDM PU College, Belthangady. Her hobby is dancing. She has participated in dance competitions. Having a passion for robotics she is always eager to help juniors in building robots.
Some of her achievements include
1) She won First Prize in ABHIYANTRAM 2017 at Sikkim;
2) She mentored first year students who participated in IGNUS 2019 held at IIT Jodhpur. The students won overall championship under her mentorship; and
3) She participated in EXODIA 2018 in IIT Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.
She has actively participated in The Swachh Bharath Abhiyan Drive conducted by Sahyadri. Her aspiration is to excel in the field of engineering and pursue higher studies abroad.
• Shreedeeksha C.H. is from Vitla. She pursued her high school from Sri Satyasai Lokaseva High School, Alike, and PUC from Ambika Padavi Poorva Vidyalaya College, Puttur. Her hobbies are dancing and listening to music.
Some of her achievement highlights are:
1) She participated in TATVA 2017 held at NIT Calicut;
2) She participated in TECHNIX 2018, IIT Varanasi and won 4th place in Water Rocket Competition in;
She has actively participated in The Swachh Bharath Abhiyan Drive conducted by Sahyadri. Her aspiration is to be the most successful woman in the world.
• Navyashree N. is from Puttur. She pursued her high school from Navodaya High School, and PUC from Government PU College, Bettampady. Her hobbies are painting, pencil sketching and dramatics.
Her achievement highlights are:
1)Secured Second place in Water Rocket competition held at IIT Ropar, Punjab; 2) Secured Second place in drawing competitions at Taluk level and state level each;
3) Secured Second place in Kannada Speech Competition “Pratibha Karanji” held at Uppinangady.
She has actively participated in The Swachh Bharath Abhiyan Drive, conducted by Sahyadri. She has visited many schools and interacted with students with a view to bring awareness and shed light on the importance of electronics. She wants to excel in the field of electronics and become a good artist.
• Meghana Sadananda Naik is from Honnavar. She pursued her schooling from St. Thomas High School, and PUC from SDM PU College, Honnavar. Her hobbies are listening to music, dancing and dramatics. She secured First Prize in drawing competition and second prize in dance competition. Her extracurricular activities are anchoring. She has worked for the social services and volunteered in raising awareness about importance of education amongst slum dwellers. She not only wants to be a successful engineer but a successful woman too.
• Keerthan J. is from Puttur. He pursued his schooling from Sri Ramakrishna High School and PUC from Sri Rama PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are exploring different programming languages. He participated in Techfest held at IIT Bombay. He also attended many workshops including “Arduino based Quadcopters” in Bangalore. Besides, he has actively participated in The Swachh Bharath Abhiyan Drive, conducted by Sahyadri. His aspiration is to become a successful engineer and get a job in Intel.
• Rachana K. is from Kasargod, Kerala. She pursued her high school from Shri Bharathi Vidyapeeta School and PUC from Shri Annapoorneshwari Higher Secondary School, Agalpady. Her hobbies are dancing, singing and reading.
Her achievements highlights are:
1) Third place in Line Follower Robot held at IIIT Jabalpur;
2) Second place in SIP project “Solar Detector”;
3) Second place in State level Throw Ball Competition held at Ernakulum;
4) Second place in District Level Bhagavadgeetha Reciting Competition held at Kasargod.
Her aspiration is to become a successful engineer with a good job and also serve the nation.
• Sampath S. is from Puttur. He pursued his schooling from Mountain View English Medium High School, and PUC from St. Philomena PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are drawing and playing cricket.
Some of his achievements are:
1) Participated in Light Follower in NITK Surathkal;
2) Secured First Place in District Level Throw Ball competition;
3) Participated in District Level Volley Ball Tournament.
He participated in The Swachh Bharath Abhiyan Drive, conducted by Sahyadri. His dream is to get a high salaried job in a core company.
