Sahyadri gets Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) grants

Sahyadri gets Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) grants Sahyadri has been selected and accoladed with initial grant for starting the UBA activities. Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a flagship programme of The Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) with an aim to connect institutions of higher education, with local communities to address the development challenges through appropriate technologies. As per the UBA guidelines, the institute should conduct preliminary survey of the five villages adopted and then propose technology interventions (projects). The grant flow will be based on the performance of the UBA activities.

Preliminary discussion and planning has been already done for village and household surveys by the UBA team comprising of Dr. S. Manjappa, Director - Research, Dr. Rathishchandra R. Gatti, UBA Program Coordinator, Mrs. Shreelatha, NSS Program Coordinator and Dr.Vidyavathi, MBA Volunteers Coordinator. The team would like to acknowledge the support of Mr. Devadas Hegde, Trustee and Dr. S. Manjappa for their support during the time of making application.

Faculty recommended for Teachers Research Fellowship Scheme

Ms. Nisha, Faculty from the Department of Electronics & Communication has been recommended by ISRO for AICTE-INAE Teachers Research Fellowship Scheme to conduct research in the area of "Microelectronics, Transducers & Actuators, Microelectromechanical System (MEMS), Electromangetics, Communication Systems". President, GB - IIST/Chairman/ISRO/Secretary, DOS has consented to extend this opportunity to Ms. Nisha.

Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman and Dr. S. Manjappa, Director-Research, have congratulated Ms. Nisha for this achievement.

VTU Mangaluru Zone Cricket Tournament at Sahyadri

VTU Mangaluru Zone Cricket Tournament VTU Mangaluru Zone Cricket Tournament VTU Mangaluru Zone Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament 2019 was organized at Sahyadri and the tournament was inaugurated by Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal. A total 19 teams participated in this tournament.

The first match was played between Sahyadri & SDIT, Bajpe and Sahyadri won by 123 runs.

Faculty invited as a Chief Guest at KPT, Mangaluru

Faculty invited as a Chief Guest at KPT Prof. Akshaya Shetty, Department of Kannada, has been invited as a Chief Guest for Women’s Day celebration held at Karnataka Polytechnic College, Mangaluru. The programme was organized by Women Development cell of the same college.

In her speech Prof. Akshaya Shetty spoke about the history of women and how Women’s Day was first celebrated in the 1909 by UNO. Having such a beautiful history, the present generation should seek to know how and in what way a woman can build her own identity.

Mr. Devarase Gowda, Principal, KPT was the president of this prestigious event. The formal programme was followed by cultural extravaganza hosted by the KPT College.

Ms. Roopashree is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and has more than 10 years of teaching experience. She has pursued B.E from KVGCE Sullia and M. Tech from NMAMIT, Nitte. Her research area of expertise is Image Processing.

• Shikha K.S. is from Mangaluru. She completed her schooling from K.V.G International Public School and PUC from Excellent Science and Commerce PU College, Mangaluru. She has secured second place in Line Following Robot at NITK, Suratkal and second place in image processing at NIT, Rourkela. Her aspiration is to pursue higher studies.
• Jestha A. Udyawar is from Mangaluru. She completed her schooling from Sarojini Madhusudan Kushe School and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobby is sketching. She participated in NIT Delhi Fest and secured second place in Robo Soccer and Maze Runner. Her aspiration is to become a successful engineer.
• Poorvi Nayak is from Mangaluru. She completed her schooling from St. Ann’s High School and PUC from St. Agnes PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are reading, painting and singing. She has participated in the Android App Development at NITK, Surathkal. She aspires to excel in the field of art and music. Her aspiration is to be a successful engineer and climb the ladder of success.
• Vishnuprasad is from Hebri. He completed his schooling from S.V.V.N Barkur and PU from Viveka PU College, Kota. His aspiration is to join as an officer in Indian Navy.
• Sagar M. is from Puttur. He completed his schooling from Sri Ramakrishna High School, Puttur and PU from St. Philomena PU College, Puttur. He has participated in the INESPO International Science Fair held at Hague, Netherlands and secured third grand award. He has participated thrice in Iris National Science Fair and participated in INSEF National Science Fair held at Gujarath. His aspiration is to be a successful engineer.
• Meghna V. Nayak is from Mangaluru. She completed her schooling from Canara High School, and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. She has completed her junior in singing. She has participated in Line Follower at NIT, Pondicherry. Her hobbies are reading, dancing, and playing table tennis. Her aspiration is to become a successful engineer and work in a reputed multinational company.
• Anujna Suvarna is from Mangaluru. She completed her schooling from Ladyhill Victoria Girls’ High School and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. She has completed her senior in classical music. She has participated in SRM Techfest Aarush, Chennai. Her hobbies are singing, dancing, and reading. Her aspiration is to become a good citizen and a successful engineer and work in a reputed multinational company.

Prof. Naitik S.T. has 7.5 years of teaching experience. He has completed M.Tech in Computer Networking from BNMIT, Bangalore. He has earned Diploma (IT) from Alison. He has done course on “User-Centric Mobile Computing” from IIT, Guwahati. He is a Google certified educator in Computational Sciences. He is the lifetime member of National Geographic Society. He has been conducting research in Cyber Security domain since 3 years. He also guides and trains students in the areas of Network Security, Cryptography, Ethical Hacking, Networking for projects, and Internships. He is the head of S4CS Lab. He is team member for PGI labs at Sahyadri. He has various professional memberships to his credit, like ISTE, CSTA, MACUL, iRED etc.

• Palimaru Amruta is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Vidyadayinee English Medium School, and PUC from Govindadasa PU College, Mangaluru. Tomorrow at Sahyadri

Attra Infotech Pvt Ltd. will be conducting a recruitment drive for the Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics & Communication Engineering students of 2019 outgoing batch. The recruitment is for the position of Associate Engineer with a package of 4.5 Lakh per annum.
