Boys Cricket Team wins Runners-Up Trophy in VTU Mangaluru Zone Sahyadri Boys Cricket team wins Runners-Up Trophy in VTU Mangaluru Zone Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament organized by Sahyadri. Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal and Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice-Principal were the guests of the Valedictory Ceremony and the prizes were distributed by them. A total of 19 colleges participated in this Tournament.

Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering in association with NITK-Surathkal conducted a workshop on Virtual Labs Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering in association with NITK-Surathkal conducted a workshop on Virtual Labs Virtual Labs is an initiative of Ministry of Human Resource Development under the National Mission on Education through ICT. A team of ten members from NITK facilitated the sessions. Virtual Labs provide remote-access to Labs in various disciplines of Science and Engineering. These have collaboration with 12 institutions all over India which includes IIT’s, NIT’s & IIIT’s. The broad areas of Virtual Labs are Electronics & Communications, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and so on. The sessions at Sahyadri were conducted for the second & third year students of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science Engineering & Information Science Engineering.

Students got an insight into the experiments available in the Virtual labs under various broad areas. Students also got a hands-on experience on simulation, calculations and experiments available. Students of Electronics & Communication Engineering analyzed the characteristics of digital logic families, learnt sampling theorems, convolution of signals, Ohm’s law, full wave rectification, characteristics of RC, RL RLC networks. Computer Science Engineering & Information Science Engineering students conducted experiments based on Karnaugh maps, combinational circuits, programming languages, computer organization etc.

First year students attend IoT Challenge competition at IIT Bombay First year students attend IoT Challenge competition at IIT Bombay I3indya technologies (IIT Bombay) had conducted an IoT challenge competition at Sahyadri back in Feb’19 which included a Two-Day workshop. Four of the first year engineering students - Vrashank Rao M, M Vishwas Kamath, Vishnudas Nayak P and Vineeth Rai K had attended this workshop and were selected in Top 6 in Mangalore Zonal out of 30 teams which included teams from reputed institutions. They cleared all the rounds and got selected in the finals clearing the 4 tasks to be completed within the deadlines. In the finals held in IIT Bombay, they competed with top 50 teams of India and made place in the Top 20.

Mrs. Sadhana is working as assistant professor in department of Computer Science & Engineering. She has 8 years of teaching experience. She graduated from Srinivas Institue of Technology Mangaluru, with computer Science & Engineering as specialization and thereafter went on to complete M.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from NMAMIT, Nitte. Her area of interest is data mining.

Introduction of Mentees:
• Mohammed Rayyan Riaz is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from Our Own English High School, Dubai and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. He participated in an event “Kshitij” held at IIT-Karaghpur. He was a team member of Under 16 CBSE Clusters Football team in Dubai. He aspires to join Air Force.
• Darshan S. is from Honnavar. He pursued his high school from New English School, Honnavar and PUC from SDM College, Honnavar. His hobby is reading. He aspires to join a reputed IT organization as software engineer.
• Akshay Kumar Bobade is from Bidar. He pursued his high school from Adventist High School, Bhalki, Bidar and PUC from Nandi International PU College, Bellary. He is interested in cricket and has participated in cricket tournament at state level. He aspires to be a successful engineer.
• Kavya B. Bhat is from Udupi. She completed her basic education in St. Cecily’s School, Udupi and PUC from Poornaprajna Pre-University College, Udupi. Her hobbies are singing. She loves to listen to music. Her aspiration is to work in a reputed IT organization after completion of her engineering.
• Rithika H. Shetty is from Mangaluru. She pursued his high school from St. Agnes Girls High School and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. In her spare time she does gardening. Her dream is to become a successful engineer.
• Vibha V. is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school and PUC from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalay, Mangaluru. Her hobby is reading. She participated in “Cognizance” which was held at IIT, Roorkee. She aspires to be a software engineer.
• Udupa Vishnu Prasad is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from NITK English Medium High School and PUC from Sharada PU College, Mangaluru. He spends his spare time by listening to music. He is very much interested in learning new programming languages. He aspires to become a successful software developer.
• Suraksha is from Udupi. She pursued her high school from Viveka Girls High School and PUC from Viveka PU College, Udupi. She likes to play chess. Apart from this she also reads books. She aspires to clear UPSC exams after graduation and serve the nation.

Upcoming Event

Sahyadri takes the privilege of hosting two esteemed guests, Mr. Dean Anuj Sharma and Mr. Subramanian Sivakumar on 21st and 22nd March 2019. The objective of the visit is set on integrating various initiatives with in the college, to guide us in planning a road map and to set new milestones for the college.

Mr. Dean Anuj Sharma Mr. Dean Anuj Sharma currently serves as the Chairman of World Research Centre, Which is a Gigacorn of Imagination and Creativity in the GigEconomy. The Ecosystem comprises of France Research Centre, American Research Centre, Canada Research Centre, India Research Centre, Japan Research Centre, World Research Investments Limited, World Research TV-Broadcasting Limited. He also has a post graduation from MIT, USA and is an alumnus of Harvard business school.


Mr. Subramanian SivakumarMr. Subramanian Sivakumar is a visionary and a serial entrepreneur. He is the Chief Executive officer for World Research Centre and Director of Pratian Technologies (India) Pvt. Ltd. He also Cofounded Netlabs Global IT Services Pvt Ltd and he is the founder of Skill Assure.

Sahyadri is proud to have signed a MOU with Pratian Technologies to scale up the initiatives taken in the college to groom students towards innovation
