Sahyadri conducts TCS Tech Bytes Prelims

TCS Tech Bytes Prelims was conducted at Sahyadri. Around 58 teams and 116 students from all streams of engineering took part in this event out of which 10 teams emerged as winners. The results are furnished herebelow:

TCS TechBytes a campus outreach programme, is organized by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and The Board for IT Education Standards (BITES), in association with IT industries and educational institutions. The quiz strives to provide a better understanding of IT to students of all streams of engineering. The top 10 teams selected from Sahyadri alongside teams selected from different colleges in the regional Prelims, will participate in the Finals taking place at Sahyadri College on March 06, 2019. The entire event was managed and coordinated by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering.

Campus Recruitment Drive

• Focus Academy for Career Enhancement (FACE)
FACE conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive for the 2018 passed out batch as well as 2019 outgoing batch of engineering students from all branches. Mr. Ram Kumar of FACE was at the campus to facilitate the entire process. A total of 385 students from various colleges participated in the drive. The results are awaited.

• CirrusLabs
Cirrus Labs conducted an Exclusive Campus Recruitment Drive for the 2019 batch outgoing engineering students from Computer Science, Information Science & Electronic & Communication Engineering. A three member team comprising of Ms. Meenaz Shariff, Director; Ms. Priyanka, HR and Mr. Tejas Shetty, Technical Review were at the campus to facilitate the recruitment process. The results are awaited

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Department: Civil Engineering
Introduction of Mentor:
R Jayaram is working as associate professor in the department of Civil Engineering. He has considerable expertise in Geotechnical Engineering. He has 34 years of industry experience and 7 years teaching experience. He has published more than 10 research articles in journals. He is a Life member of Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE). He is also a reviewer member for research groups. He has executed a number of hydroelectric projects, thermal power projects, multi-storeyed building complex for offices and has wide experience in hydrometric and hydroelectric surveys.

• Sanjana A.N. is from Balekoppa. She pursued her high school from Jyothir Vikas English Medium School, Chickmagalur and PUC from St. Aloysius College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are dancing and listening to music. She aspires for a government job.
• Apeksha V.K. is from Mangaluru. She pursued her high school from Canara High School and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are reading novels & webtoons and listening to music. She aspires to become an entrepreneur.
• Deeksith P.C. is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from St. Joseph’s English Medium High School and PUC from Padavu PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing and watching different types of sports and listening to music. He wants to go for higher studies.
• Jinupal P.J. is from Manjeshwar, Kerala. He pursued his high school from Milagres High School and PUC from Canara PU College, Mangluru. His hobbies are playing football and dancing.
• Abdul Rahiman Mayiz is from Kalladaka. He pursued his high school from Gem English Medium HSS, Golthamjalu and Diploma from KPT, Mangaluru. His hobbies are reading and dancing. He aspires to become an entrepreneur.
• M.D. Sohail is from Devadurga. He pursued his high school from Devadorga Don Bosco School and PUC from Nandhi PU College, Ballary. His hobbies are sports, music and dancing. His wants to go for higher studies.
• Tyag S.P. is from Mangaluru. He pursued his high school from SVS English Medium School and PUC from Expert PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are sports, music and dancing. His ambition is to become a good civil engineer and work for the development of infrastructure for societal needs.
• Rathan H.P. is from Madikere. He pursued his high school from KVG International Public School, Sulia and PUC from Sharada Vidyanikethana, Talapady, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing cricket, football and other athletic games, and reading novels. He aspires to become an IAS or IPS Officer.
