Sahyadrians win IGNUS’19 Runners-up Trophy at IIT Jodhpur
A total of 15 students from Engineering K section, under the mentorship of Mr. Hrithvik Patel and Ms. Bindya Rao, participated in IGNUS’19 organized by IIT Jodhpur.
The team won prizes in the following events:
• 2nd and 4th place in Robo Soccer
• 2nd place in Balsa Glider
• 3rd place in Line Follower
• 4th place in Light Follower
• 4th place in RF bot race
With the above mentioned achievements during the event, Sahyadri won the Runners-up trophy.
Team Flotanomers and RDL visit ISRO headquarters and Antrix in Bengaluru
Mr. Midhun Jyothis, Mr. Probid J Pannikan, Mr. Gousekhan and Mr. Gerald k Antony from Flotanomers along with the CEO of RDL Mr. Raghavendra Shetty visited ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru and had a discussion on mutual indigenous development of drone technology in India.
Sahyadrian Recruited by UniCourt
Mr. Abhishek P from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering from 2019 outgoing batch was recruited by UniCourt, with a package of Rs. 4.5 Lakhs per annum, in the recently held Campus Recruitment Drive at Sahyadri.
Alumni interaction with students of Information Science & Engineering
Ms. Ushakiran and Ms. Deeksha Rai, Alumni of Dept. of Information Science and Engineering had addressed the students of sixth semester and fourth semester respectively about how they got placed at IBM and also about their work experience in IBM. They gave an insight about the latest trends and technologies and emphasized on the need to be updated about these trends. They re-iterated the importance of having a job offer while in campus.
Engineering student Pledged to Donate his Organs
Mr. Sagar Devadiga, student of Mechanical Engineering took a pledge to donate his organs under the guidance and supervision of Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor. He registered his name as a donor in the National Organ and Tissue Transplant Organization (NOTTO). Sahyadri applauds his generous and heroic gesture.

Mr. Shankarayya Shastri has pursued Diploma in Computer Science from Bapuji Polytechnic, Davangere, B.E from STJIT Ranebennur, M.Tech from SDM-CET, Dharwad. Currently he is working as Assistant Professor & NBA Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science. He is having more than 12 years of teaching experience. He has participated extensively in various committees and activities to expand learning opportunities. His research area includes Data Mining, Big Data Analytics, Text Mining and Programming languages.

• Brendan hails from Guwahati, Assam. He completed his schooling from Maharishi Vidya Mandir Public School (MVM), Panikhaiti, Guwahati and PUC from Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, Guwahati. His hobbies are listening to music, playing football and gaming. His aim is to become a software engineer and also learn animation.
• K. Nithish Kumar is a native of Tamil Nadu but brought up in Mangaluru. He completed his schooling from Sharada Vidyalaya, and PUC from Mahesh PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing and watching cricket, YouTube etc. His aim is to become an ethical software engineer and learn to make websites.
• Sourav Dhara is a native of West Bengal but brought up in Mangaluru. He completed his schooling and PUC from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mangaluru. His hobbies are playing badminton and watching movies. His aim is to become a good software developer
• Shravya Shetty is from Udupi. She completed her schooling from SMS English Medium School, Brahmavar and PUC from Excellent PU College, Kundapur. Her hobbies are reading novels, listening to music and dancing. Her aspiration is to become a committed software engineer and social worker.
• Mithun R. Krishna is from Kasargod, Kerala. He completed his schooling from Jai Matha English Medium Higher Secondary School and PUC from Vivekananda PU College, Puttur. His hobbies are playing and watching cricket and listening to music His aim is to become a software engineer.
• Ajay Jostal Dsouza is from Mangaluru. He completed his schooling from MRPL, DPS, and PUC from Govinda Dasa College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are gardening, watching cricket, Youtube, netsurfing and mobile games. His aim is to become a software developer. He also aspires to become a motivational speaker and a career guidance advisor.
• Ravishankar is from Kasargod, Kerala. He completed his schooling from Milagres High School and PUC from Canara College, Mangaluru. His hobbies are watching movies, cricket and listening to music. His aim is to become an efficient software engineer.

Sahyadri Whiz Quiz 2019
MBA Department is organizing “Sahyadri Whiz-Quiz 2019' a quiz competition for undergraduates in the Sahyadri Campus. Preliminary rounds of Quiz were conducted by the 1st & 2nd Year MBAs during the month of February & March 2019 in selected 48 colleges in the district of Mangalore, Udupi, Kodagu, Karwar, Belgaum, Shimoga, Hassan, Chikmagalur and Kasargod. Around 9,000 students participated in the college level quiz, out of which 950 students are selected for Grand Finale of Sahyadri Whiz-Quiz which would be held tomorrow.
This is the 5th edition of Sahyadri Whiz Quiz. Mr. Reese Mathews, Chief Manager, Canara Bank, Bendoorwell, Mangaluru is the Quiz Master for the Grand finale. In the final round of the Grand Finale, the winners will be awarded with cash prizes Rs. 25,000/-, Rs.15,000/- and Rs.10,000/- for First, Second and Third Prize respectively.
