Students from Shree Vidyadhiraj Polytechnic College, Kumta visit Sahyadri for Industry Exposure Program

As a part of Sahyadri's Social Responsibility and Industry Exposure Program, students of Second Year Diploma in Electronics & Communication from Shree Vidyadhiraj Polytechnic College, Kumta visited Sahyadri.
They visited the various in-house industries at Sahyadri. Dr. Anush Bekal, Associate Professor, & In-charge, Industry Connect, explained the importance and significance of early Industry Exposure to students during their academic time frame. RDL Technologies Pvt.Ltd showcased some of the live Industry products and how a device is embedded on a PCB along with the process of packaging was part of the program.
Later, they were taken to Caliper Engineering Labs Pvt. Ltd to witness the manufacturing process and products being developed in the mechanical industry. They also visited the department of Electronics & Communication to observe the infrastructure and academic engagements.

International Education Consultant from Eurasia Institute, Germany conducts Seminar on German Higher Education for engineering students

Ms. Kseniia Naberezhneva from Eurasia Institute, Berlin, Germany visited Sahyadri on 4th March’2020 and addressed the engineering students interested in pursuing higher studies.
Ms. Naberezhneva shared her views about higher education in Germany and the opportunities it offers for engineers in Germany. She said that German education is well recognized all over the world. She is a counselor and has 15 years of experience in international education.
German Education is known throughout the world for its excellence, practical orientation and for the scope of opportunities it offers. The top quality degree programs are largely subsidized by the German government and living costs for students in Germany are low.

Captured Moments of the four colleges of Belagavi qualified for the Grand Finale to be held at Sahyadri on 6th March’2020 – Gogte College of Commerce; KLE Society's Lingraj College; PeopleTree Education Society and Trinity College of Commerce.

Campus Recruitment Drive

Canara HSBC OBC Life Insurance conducted a Pool Campus Recruitment Drive on 4th March’2020 for the MBA students of 2020 outgoing batch. The process began with a Pre-placement Talk followed by Online Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Around 148 students participated in the Drive. Out of these, 91 were shortlisted for the Group Discussion. From the Group Discussion, 87 students got shortlisted and had personal interviews. The results are awaited.

Mentor-Mentee System at Sahyadri

Introduction of the Mentor:
Dr. Anush Bekal is an Associate Professor of Electronics & Communication Engineering and Faculty In-charge of Industry Connect (IC). He completed his Ph.D. in Microelectronics from the prestigious Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad (IIIT-A), M.S in VLSI/CAD from Manipal University (Institute of Eminence) and B.E in Electronics & Communication from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi. He has taught several courses at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, having 8 years of experience in the field of teaching and research. His research interest includes Analog and Mixed Signal VLSI Circuits, Low Power ADCs, Digital Design, Analog Circuit Design, Verilog/VHDL. He is also the Vice-President for Institute Innovation Council (IIC) of MHRD (Govt. of India) and the Institute representative for Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) of Mangaluru Chapter at Sahyadri..

Introduction of the Mentees:
• Liston D’Souza is from Mangaluru. He has pursued his schooling from Vishwamangala High School and PUC from St. Aloysius PU College, Mangaluru. His hobbies include singing, dancing, playing outdoor games and sports.
• Narayan Gopal is from Mangaluru. He has pursued his schooling from Vidyadayinee English Medium School and PUC from Canara PU College, Mangaluru. He likes quantum computing and is GATE and IES aspirant.
• Neha Mayya is from Mangaluru. She has pursued her schooling from Sharada Vidyalaya and PUC from Sri Chaitanya PU College, Mangaluru. Her hobbies are reading novels, sketching, writing and playing badminton.
• Rahul Rajan Kudtarkar is from Gujarat. He pursued his schooling from St. Joseph High School, Karwar and PUC from Government PU College, Karwar. His hobbies are playing, clay modeling and meeting new people. His aim is to get placed in a good company.
• Shashank S.K is from Kodagu. He pursued his schooling and PUC from St. Anne’s High School & College. His hobbies are playing chess and video games.

Grand Finale of Sahyadri Whiz Quiz-2020

Dept. of Business Administration-MBA is organizing the sixth edition of “Sahyadri Whiz Quiz-2020', a quiz competition for UG students on Friday, 06th March 2020 in the campus.
Mr. Praveen Kamath Kumbla, General Manager & HR Head, Global Delivery and Enablement, Wipro Limited, will be the Chief Guest and Mr. Prakyath Bhandary Associate, People & Culture Team, Grant Thornton LLP, Bengaluru will be the Alumni Guest for the Inaugural Ceremony.


Mr. Jayaraj B. Rai, Chairman of Sri Ramakrishna Credit Co- Op. Society Ltd. Mangaluru and Mr. Divakar Kadri, Chairman, NIPM, Mangaluru Chapter, General Manager, Cardolite, Mangaluru, will be the Chief Guests for the Concluding Ceremony.
A total of 1,000 students from selected 50 UG Colleges from Mangaluru City, Outskirts of Mangaluru, Udupi, Kodagu, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi and Kasargod would be participating in the event.
