Holi – The Festival of Colours!

Holi is one of the most revered festivals of India which is celebrated with utmost joy and enthusiasm. It is also sometimes called as the “Festival of Love” as on this day people get to unite together forgetting resentments and forgiving each other. The vibrancy of colors is something that brings in a lot of positivity in our lives and Holi being the festival of colours is actually a day worth rejoicing.

Guruji Pujya Shri Swami Brahmayogananda visits Sahyadri and delivers Anugraha Bhashanam

Guruji Pujya Shri Swami Brahmayoganandaji, Founder Acharya of Yoga Shanti Gurukulam, Chennai, visited Sahyadri on 7th March’2020. He performed Sita-Laxmi Pooja at the campus, which was witnessed by all teaching and non-teaching staff.
The Sita-Laxmi Pooja was followed by ‘Anugraha Bhashanam’ delivered by the Seer, to a crowded audience. Dr. R Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal; Dr. Rajesha, Dean-Academics; Prof. S.S. Balakrishna, Vice-Principal were also present.

On his visit, Swami Brahmayoganandaji had deep admiration for the unique education set-up. He said that he has never seen an institution of such a magnitude and emphatically stated “Sahyadri will certainly be the ‘Next Takshashila’ and that is my Prarthana”.
Last but not least, the Swami Brahmayoganandaji was happy he took time to visit Sahyadri campus. He easily warmed up to the Chairman-Mr. Manjunath Bhandary and had nothing but words of praise for him.

Engineering Students win at VAA Startup Quest Biz Pitch Contest organized by World Konkani Association, Mangaluru.

Mr. Prajwal Shetty of Third Year Mechanical Engineering and Ms. Kavana Tilak of Second Year Computer Science Engineering who are interning at Dtlabz Private Limited, a Sahyadri Startup had participated in the VAA Startup Quest Biz Pitch contest organized by World Konkani Association, Mangaluru.
Out of all the startup teams that participated for the Prototype Stage, Team Aasha, who are working on the NAIN funded project, ‘Early Detection of Breast Cancer’ were one of the top five participants selected by the Jury Panel comprising of Mr. C.M Patil, CEO of Deshpande Start-ups and Mr. Rajesh Pai of Infosys.
The team was awarded with a cash prize of Rs.10,000/-. The winners were felicitated with the prize amount by Padmashree Awardee, Dr. T.V Mohandas Pai, Chairman, Manipal Global Education.
This was a great learning experience and exposure for the students and their project.

Engineering students attend District Level Youth Red Cross Orientation and Leadership Camp at Pilikula Regional Science Centre, Vamanjoor

To equip themselves with lifesaving skills and serve the society, eleven Engineering students, along with Student Welfare Officer attended 5-Days District Level Youth Red Cross Orientation and Leadership Camp organized by Indian Red Cross Society, D. K. District during 29th Feb to 4th March’2020, held at Pilikula Regional Science Centre, Vamanjoor.
The students were trained in various First Aid techniques, Tent pitching and rigging, Fire safety drill, Disaster management basics, Leadership and Personality growth, and Psycho-social preparedness. Mock drill was also conducted on road accident, community health and hygiene.
The camp helped the students by enhancing their Social and Leadership skills. They are now certified by Indian Red Cross Society as ‘Emergency Responders’.

Student Counsellor invited by All India Radio for Special interview

Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counselor, was invited by All India Radio-Akashavani Mangaluru for a special interview on the topic "Stress Management and Health Concerns for Students during Exams".
Mr Ankith spoke about the various Stress factors faced by students during exam time that can lead to sleep disorders, poor concentration, over-eating and so on and explained about the Counteractive Measures to be taken relating to food & study habits and sleep patterns during exam time.

Women’s Cell at Sahyadri is organizing an Awareness Talk in commemoration of International Women’s Day

In commemoration of International Women's Day, the Sahyadri Women's Cell is organizing an Awareness Talk on "Reproductive Health" for all female staff.
