Awareness programme on Road Safety by NSS unit A campaign on “Slow Down –Save Lives”, UN Global Road safety week programme initiated by VTU NSS and Red Cross Cell was celebrated in Bengaluru by his Excellency the Governor of Karnataka & Vice Chancellor of the University in the presence of the Chief Guest of the function - Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Hon’ble Union Minister for Transport & Highways. This event was concurrently arranged in the constituent colleges of VTU.

Awareness programme on Road Safety by NSS unit At Sahyadri, an awareness programme on Road Safety was organized by the NSS Unit by presenting videos on Road safety. Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, Principal while addressing the gathering mentioned that everyone should slow down so that they enjoy the very essence of life & shared motivational stories of Buddha to detail his statement. Pledge was taken by the members present during the programme and also in the classrooms. Ms. Shreelatha U A, AAO, Dr. J V Gorabal, Dean - Academics, Mr. Naveen Pilar, HOD, Art & Culture & the first year students were present during the programme.

COMED-K UGET to be held at Sahyadri
COMED-K is a state level entrance exam conducted by Consortium of Medical Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka. Over 60,000 students from all over India will appear for the exam every year to get admission to Medical, Dental and Engineering courses in the participating colleges of COMED-K UGET.

Upcoming Event

Department of Business Administration will be bidding farewell to Final Years of batch 2015-2017 on 15/05/2017, Monday at 02.00 p.m onwards. The programme will be hosted at Nethravathi Auditorium and Our beloved Principal Dr. Umesh M Bhushi will be the Chief Guest for the function.

Felicitation to one of the toppers in SSLC

Felicitation to one of the toppers in SSLC Ms. Prathiksha Rao of Canara Pre-University College was felicitated at the campus for being one among the top scorers in the recently conducted SSLC board Exam, Karnataka. Ms. Prathiksha has secured 618/625. Swami Yekagamyanandaji from the Ramakrishna Math, Mangaluru felicitated Ms. Prathiksha on her achievement and blessed her in the presence of the Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. Chairman appreciated the good work and stated that it is a proud moment to have Ms. Prathiksha in the campus.

Ms. Prathiksha Rao has actively participated and achieved success also in the field of Bharathnatyam, Carnatic Vocal, Drawing, Photography and NCC, apart from the academics. She has participated in the Bharathnatyam competitions held at Kuwait, Golden Temple Vellore, Mysore Dasara and National Youth Festival.

MBA HR Student placed as a Cluster Trainer at LEVI’S in appreciation for her Internship Project

Ms. Harshitha Vasantha Rai, second year MBA HR Student has been appointed as a Cluster Trainer, LEVI’S by Vogue Clothing (part of Vogue Vestures Pvt Ltd). Harshitha would be the Training & Development in charge of 10 stores of LEVI’S (4 in Mangaluru, 2 in Bengaluru and 1 each in Kalaburgi, Davangere, Belagavi & Hubli). She had pursued her internship project in “Competency Mapping for Front Line Managers to enhance their performance” under the guidance of Prof. Sushma V which has been appreciated by the HR recruiter as it identifies the competency gap in employees and suggests training measures to bridge the gap in competency. This has contributed to her placement in a Cluster Trainer position.

Infosys conducts “Spark” for the YR 2017 selects

Infosys conducts Spark for the YR 2017 selects Infosys has conducted an event called “Spark” for the Year 2017 selects. This programme oriented students regarding corporate expectations, heads up about the company and the career opportunities in the organization based on performance. Twenty Six students attended the programme to fine-tune themselves to the expectation before they join the organization.
