“Right Vision, Right Life” – Motivational Talk by Swami Nirbhayanandaji
Swami Nirbhayanandaji, President, Ramakrishna Vivekananda Ashram, Gadag visited Sahyadri along with Swami Jithakamanandaji, President, Ramkrishna Mutt, Swami Prakashanandaji, Ranibennur and Swami Brahmanishtanandaji & Swami Gurusharananandaji from Chithradurga. During his inspirational talk, Swami Nirbhayanandaji said “Satyam Vada, Dharmachara” which calls upon to be righteous, honest, follow dharma, have commitment, goal & right vision towards life & also introspect one’s own self. He advised the students to develop ‘Alter Ego’ concept (Mirror image of one’s self). He also mentioned that one should have passion for unravelling truth. Swamiji summarized his talk stimulating students to be creative, take initiative, be a team player & face challenges with confidence.
Felicitation to one of the toppers in SSLC
Mr. Prateek Timmappa Bhat of M.E.S Telanga High School, Sirsi who has secured 619/625 marks was felicitated at the campus for being one among the top scorers in the recently conducted SSLC Board Exam, Karnataka by the Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary. Prateek has not only excelled in academics but has actively participated and achieved in the field of Hindustani Music under the category of senior grade as well as drawing.
MBA Office Staff’s Daughter felicitated for securing 94.4% in SSLC Board Exam
Ms. Pooja, Daughter of Vanitha P, MBA Office Staff was felicitated by the Department of Business Administration on securing 94.4% in SSLC Board Exam 2017, Karnataka. She has done her SSLC in St. Ann’s High School, Mangaluru. It is worth mentioning that Pooja has scored 100/100 in Hindi Subject. During the felicitation, Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director, Department of Business Administration appreciated Ms. Vanitha P on how her leaves were being effectively utilized to support her daughter during exams. Sahyadri is elated over the laurels brought by the daughter of its employee.
Research Article of CSE Faculty accepted in SCI indexed Springer Journal
A research article titled "Localization in Wireless Sensor Networks using Rigid Graphs: A Review", authored by Prof. Shamanth Rai, Department of Computer Science & Engineering has been accepted for publication in SCI indexed journal, Wireless Personal Communications, Springer, having an impact factor of 0.71.

RMC Readymix conducts campus recruitment drive for the Civil Engineering students
RMC Readymix (India) visited Sahyadri to conduct campus recruitment drive for the Civil Engineering students of 2017 batch. 53 students were part of the recruitment drive. The results are awaited. Mr. Subhadeep Bose from the recruitment team was at the campus to facilitate the entire recruitment process.
VIVO conducts recruitment drive for MBAs
Ms. Lynn He, HR Head, Karnataka, Mr. Kumara A, Asst. HR Head, Karnataka, Mr. Lucas Cui, General Manager, Mangaluru Region and Mr. Manish Shetty, HR, Mangaluru Region (Alumnus of Sahyadri MBA) visited Sahyadri to conduct Campus Recruitment Drive for MBAs 2017 batch for the three positions – Team Leader Sales, Route Trainer & Business Support Executive. During the pre-placement talk, Mr. Manish Shetty shared the history of VIVO, their growth story, various branding strategies adopted and also the Job Description of each profile they have placement opportunities for. In addition to this, they highlighted the Employee-centric strategies followed for the engagement of their workforce, International tours gifted to employees on achieving over and above the sales target, their future plans and also the career ladder at VIVO. MBA students participated in the recruitment drive in great numbers and 15 candidates were shortlisted for the final face to face round of interview. The results will be announced tomorrow.

Tomorrow at Sahyadri
Mr. Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Govt. of India, Mr. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State in Finance and Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India are visiting Sahyadri along with other dignitaries. Mr. Nalin Kumar Kateel, Member of Indian Parliament has facilitated this visit.
 Mr. Prakash Javadekar is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He was elected to the Rajya Sabha as a Member of Parliament from Maharashtra in 2008 and re-elected from Madhya Pradesh in 2014. He was appointed as Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change. He is also a Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and briefly held the portfolio of Information and Broadcasting.
Some of his achievements are
• Sir Purshottam Das Thakur Memorial National Award for research Paper on "Rural Development & Banks role in Co-ordinated approach”.
• Visited USA as a Member of the Young Political Leaders under the American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) Programme 1985
• Visited USA as a member of the Government of Maharashtra delegation to participate in Government Road-shows on IT 1998
 Mr. Rajiv Pratap Rudy, commencing his political career as a student union leader is a known political face in India, recently been inducted as a Union Minister for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship in the Council of Mr. Narendra Modi’s Government. He was a member of the State Legislature of Bihar apart from being the Office Bearer of the Bharatiya Janata Party. In his earlier tenure, he worked as the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry in 2001 and subsequently elevated as the Civil Aviation Minister in 2003. He has had several terms, both in Upper House and Lower House of Parliament, spreading over 20 years.
He is credited as the only Parliamentarian on globe operating Airbus-320 Jets, flying with one of the largest private airlines in India as a Senior First Officer and also figures in the Limca book of World records. Recently, he is credited with flying a Sukhoi 30-MKI, a fighter aircraft in the Indian Air force.
Professionally, he is an academician, a teacher of economics and also has had a stint as a Legal Counsel, apart from a deep association with the field of Aviation. His tenure in Civil Aviation had witnessed comprehensive Aviation reforms in India in a big way and its footprints can be observed even today.
 Mr. Arjun Ram Meghwal, Union Minister of State in Finance and Corporate Affairs, Govt. of India is an Indian politician belonging to the Bharatiya Janata Party. He was awarded the Best Parliamentarian Award in 2013.
