Sahyadri organizes a talk on “Combating Terrorism - Role of Youth” in commemoration of World Anti-Terrorism Day

Combating Terrorism - Role of Youth Combating Terrorism - Role of Youth In commemoration of Anti-Terrorism day, Sahyadri organized a session for the First Year Engineering students on the topic “Combating Terrorism - Role of Youth”. Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor conducted the session for the students and explained the meaning, definition, types, causes, impact and how we youth can combat the elements of terror. The students also took a pledge to not indulge in anti-social activities and create a terror-free safe society.

Civil Engineering Faculty receives NPTEL Online Certification

Chairman meets the Leadership Team of TCS & Puneeth Rajkumar at the TCS World 10K Bengaluru Prof. Supreet Prabhu, from the Dept. of Civil Engineering receives Online Certification for successfully completing a course on “Subsurface Exploration: Importance and Techniques Involved” with a consolidated score of 87% obtaining Elite + Silver Certification. The course covers the requirement of thorough subsurface investigation, its importance in planning and execution of the project, classification of investigations to be adopted and challenges faced during many of the most complex civil engineering projects across the globe.

Introduction of Mentor:

B. Raghavendra Prabhu is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration. He is an alumnus of SVS College, Bantwal. He worked in Corporation Bank for ten years where he did his CAIIB degree in Banking. He is a Member of The Indian Institute of Banking & Finance, Mumbai and also a Member of Lions Club International. He studied MBA and is a holder of NET degree. At present he is pursuing his Ph.D. degree in banking. He has attended international conference at Sri Lanka and Pondicherry. He teaches Operations Research, Statistics, Corporate Valuation and other Finance subjects and has had 18 years of teaching experience. He has been working in Sahyadri ever since the establishment of Department of Business Administration. Continuous reading is his passion.

Introduction of Mentees:
• Vikas Prabhu is from Udupi. He pursued his high school from Nirmala High School and PUC from SMS PU College, Brahmavar. He Graduated in B.Com from Milagres College, Kallianpur. His hobbies are trekking, travelling, Marathon running and writing blogs. His future plan is to become a civil servant and make our country proud. His lifetime achievement so far is NCC cadet. He has attended 14 various camps and received NCC "C" Certificate in Army Wing with A Grade. He represented Karnataka and Goa Directorate in Republic Day Parade at New Delhi in January 2016.
• Sampath Prabhu is from Udupi. He pursued his PUC from St. Lawrence PU College, Moodubelle. He graduated from Madhav Pai Memorial College, Udupi. He plays cricket and objective in life is to become an entrepreneur.
• M. Ashwini Shenoy is from Kasaragod. She pursued PUC from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Kasargod. She did her engineering in Computer Science at LBS College of Engineering, Kasargod. She acts in dramas and plays Shuttle Badminton and Table tennis. She is placed in KPMG and wants to work in companies.
• Thilakraj is from Puttur. He pursued PUC from Vivekananda PU College and degree at Vivekananda College, Puttur. He plays Shuttle Badminton and Cricket. He wants to beome a finance manager of any company. He was an NSS volunteer and participated in many camps.
• Kavya A. is from Kasargod. She pursued her PUC from Chattanchal Higher Secondary School. She graduated from PCASC, Munnad. She plays Chess. She is placed in Axis Bank and wants to continue her banking career. She was in NCC.
• Rashmi Bennis is from Belthangady. She pursued her PUC from Sacred Heart PU College and graduated from Sacred Heart College, Madanthyar. Watching movies is her hobby. She wants to become a financial analyst in any company.
• Sadananda B. is from Puttur. He pursued his PUC from Vivekananda PU College and graduation from Vivekananda Degree College, Puttur. He is interested in trekking. He wants to become an accounting executive in any company.
• Milan P.B. is from Madikeri. He pursued his PUC from Vivekananda College, Kushalnagar and graduated from FMKMC, Madikeri. Playing carrom is his hobby. At present he is placed in HDFC Bank and wants to continue there.
• Nandith B. Naika is from Belthangady. He pursued hi PUC from Vivekananda PU College and graduation from Vivekananda Degree College, Puttur. He plays cricket. He wants to become an accounts executive in any company.
• Sujith Kumar is from Kasargod. He pursued his PUC from Govt. Higher Secondary School, Uppala and graduated from Sri Ramakrishna College, Mangalore. He is interested in photography. He wants to be an entrepreneur. He received the best NSS award in the year 2015-16.
• Heera A. is from Belthangady. She pursued her PUC from SDM PU College and graduation from SDM Degree College, Ujire. Travelling is her hobby. She wants to become an entrepreneur.
