Tenth Graduation Day of the MBA students celebrated in the Campus The Tenth Graduation Day for the graduating students of MBA was held in the campus. One Hundred & Seventy Eight students took an oath and received their graduation certificates from the Guests – Mr. Edwin Moses, Group Vice-President, Oracle, Bengaluru and Mr. Krishnaraj Tantri, Senior Vice-President, South and South East Asia, Global Payments, Mumbai. Dr. Vishal Samartha, Director-MBA welcomed the gathering and gave a glimpse of the College and the Department. While enumerating the achievements of the outgoing batch, she took great pride in relating the growth story of the Department.

The graduating candidates were presented by Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning and Prof. Balakrishna S S, Vice-Principal lead them in the oath taking ceremony. These students then volunteered to share their experiences about the course of their study at Sahyadri and also assured of joining hands with the institution in the form of industry-academia connects that shall contribute to the growth of the institution.

He has worked with companies across multiple industry segments; Automotive, Specialized Tooling, Management Consulting, Telecom & Banking. His responsibilities have been at both operational and leadership levels in functions as diverse as Manufacturing, Sales, Product Management, and After Sales Service & Engineering Delivery. An avid reader, a 'hungry learner' and a constant believer that there are miles to go before one can sleep.

While addressing the gathering whom Mr. Edwin Moses referred to as the Millennials, highlighted the one common factor among all was the need to be successful. Success is not how fast you run to achieve it but how long you last in it. He also shared tips to last long in a successful state – Have Passion in whatever you do, Do it with Perfection and Have clear Purpose of life. He referred to Passion as finding yourself and Purpose as losing yourself.

He has successfully managed Multiple System and Operational Migration/s. He has been the President’s Club winner for the last 5 consecutive years, one of the prestigious awards being honoured to the top performers and recognized on global platform.

Mr. Krishnaraj while addressing the graduates, highlighted the key 3 factors that contribute to success – Uphold highest level of integrity, Need for strategic planning and risk taking ability. He urged students to shift their ideology from “Why me” to “Try Me”. He appreciated Sahyadri for nurturing & moulding the students to fulfil their dreams. Dr. R. Srinivasa Rao Kunte, Principal, in his presidential remarks appreciated the department for contributing talents to the nation, year after year, who not only do well for themselves but also for Sahyadri as they raise high the banners of the institution they graduate from.

Tenth Graduation Day of the MBA students celebrated in the Campus Parents and relatives of students were also present to support their children/ward on this momentous occasion. It is a moment of pride for the parents who look on with satisfaction as an academic degree is conferred on their child.

Mr. A. Deviprasad Shetty, Director, FKCCI visits Sahyadri

Mr. A. Deviprasad Shetty, Director, FKCCI visits Sahyadri Sahyadri has had the privilege of hosting several A-List personalities ever so often in the past. Accordingly today, Mr. A. Deviprasad Shetty, Partner Divogas, and Director, Federation of Karnataka Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI), visited Sahyadri. He was accompanied by Mr. M.G. Balakrishna and Mr. M.G. Ravikumar, partners of Maagam Group. Mr. M.G. Balakrishna, is also the Director of Federation of FKCCI and holds several key positions in various federations and associations. A special mention is that all the three guests of today are actively involved in the LPG business.

Our Chairman – Mr. Manjunath Bhandary warmly welcomed the guests at the campus. He accompanied the guests around the campus and talked about the great achievements of Sahyadri. The guests visited various departments, innovation centres and startups and interacted with the management and faculty.

The guests were fascinated with the student-centric initiatives undertaken by the college and had nothing but deep admiration for the unique education system established at Sahyadri. They were deeply impressed with the sophisticated and substantial infrastructure of the college too!

Faculty successfully defends her Ph.D

Faculty presents paper and bags best Paper award Mrs. Joyline Gemine Dsa, Assistant Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering has successfully defended her Thesis on “Fabrication and characterization of drug delivery devices for their application in controlled release" for the doctoral degree at IIIT-Allahabad. She will be awarded Ph.D degree at IIIT-A, during the convocation to be held on 14th September 2019.

Faculty presents paper and bags best Paper award Mrs. Joyline D’Sa carried out her research work under the supervision of Dr. Manish Goswami, Head of the Department, Electronics & Communication Engineering, IIIT-A and Prof. B.R. Singh. During her research she has published 4 international journals (SCI) and 2 international conference Papers.

Mrs. Joyline D’Sa expresses her heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Manjunath Bhandary, Chairman and the management for providing opportunity for her higher studies.

Introduction of Mentor:

Prof Vijayalaxmi Kedilaya B. is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering. She is basically from Mangaluru. She obtained her B.E degree in Civil Engineering from NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte and MTech in Structural Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology. She has published one Paper in Scopus indexed journal and one book chapter in Springer Publication. She has attended 2 international conferences at NITK and Reva University. Her areas of interest include Structural Analysis, Steel Structures, and Earthquake Resistant Design.

Introduction of Mentees:
• Mohan B.V. is basically from Kulshekhar. He pursued his high school from Sharada PU College, Mangalore. He has participated in national level technical fest at NIT SIKKIM and secured first place in line follower and 2nd place in bridge building. He also participated in national level technical fest at IIT MANDI and secured 1st place in Robo Race and Junk Yard, 3rd place in Bridge Building. His aspiration is to become a successful civil engineer.
• Afzal M.A. is from Bantwal. He pursued his high school from Philomena College and did his schooling in Bethams High School. He aspires to be a District Collector. He has participated in National Level Technical Fest at IIT Kharagpur and secured 5th place in STAX, and his team was awarded with a Special Mention Award by IIT Kharagpur. He is a district level volley ball Player. He was awarded Best Speaker by Bethany Institution in the year 2017.
• Nithin D. is basically from Kasargod He pursued his high school from Canara High School and PUC in Canara PU College, Mangaluru. He aspires to serve in the Indian army as Officer. He has participated in National Level Technical Fest at IIT Gandhinagar and secured 2nd place in ROBO QUEST and 6th place in SEISMISM.
• Gurukiran B. hails from Sullia. He pursued his high school from MDMR School and completed his PUC in Nehrunagar. He has participated in TECHKRITI national level technical fest at IIT Kanpur and secured 4th place in IAR Croboline Follower. He secured 5th place in bridge building. His aspiration is to become a successful engineer.
• Shikha Shet hails from Kumta. She pursued her high school from CVSK and completed her PUC from Saraswati College, Kumta. She has keen interest in sports and arts. She aspires to become successful in life’s ventures.
• Priya is basically from the Bantwal. She pursued her PUC in Govt Polytechnic, Bantwal. Her aspiration is to become a successful engineer and obtain a government job.
• Sheik Safwan hails from Bantwal. He pursued his high school from SVS High School and completed PUC from SVS PU College. He aspires to become a successful entrepreneur.
• Gowtham N. is from Bantwal Taluk. He pursued high school from Sri Sharada High School, Panemangalore and did his PUC in Vivekananda Polytechnic, Puttur. He aspires to become a successful civil engineer.
