Webinar on "Opportunities for MBA's - Embracing the New Normal" by the Practice Head of WIPRO Limited

Dept. of Business Administration organized a Webinar on the topic "Opportunities for MBA's - Embracing the New Normal". Mr. Mohan Kumar, Practice Head of WIPRO Limited was the resource person for the Webinar. He gave insights about the industries impacted due of the current Global crisis and urged students to prepare for the 'New Normal' by adopting to new business environment by 3 R’s i.e. Reassess, Respond and Recalibrate. He gave examples of how the business model is changing with change in technology and shift in customer preference. He emphasized that the future belongs to the millennial, provided they up-skill themselves by embracing the new normal. He also appreciated the institution for delivering the curriculum through online platforms and assisting the students to access certification courses through Coursera. At the end of the webinar he addressed the queries of the students and gave few tips on how to prepare for the 'New Normal'. Prof. Ramesh K G, Dean-Strategic Planning, moderated the session.

Open_Source_Intelligence The webEX session on “Open Source Intelligence’ was delivered by Dr. Ananth Prabhu G, under the initiative of ISEA on May 14th’2020 during 11:15 am to 12:30 pm.
He started with thanking ISEA and also said how even in such pandemic times ISEA has tactfully spread awareness to the citizens through posters regarding cyber safety.
He remembered his Guru, Sanjay Sahay Retd IPS, ADGP, who used to tell “Hacking is the new NORMAL” which meant that Hacking was very normal and most of the top companies were compromised of its data with or without their notice. He continued by sharing few statistics on how much data flow took place every minute in the internet and the difference sources through which data was openly available for anyone who tried to explore about any person. This was because; most of us leave enough digital footprints on the web.
He explained what OSINT (Open source intelligence) is and the various forms in which information was available in the public domain or accessible from public sources. He also explained the many ways in which professionals such as Information security, private investigators, law enforcement, military, business, attorneys, etc could leverage OSINT data.
He also briefed as to how by using the right tools and resources one could collect OSINT data. Then with help of wonderful examples, he explained the OSINT process which included identifying the source, harvesting, Data processing, analysis and reporting. While explaining how to do ‘Google dork like a pro hacker’, he left the audience awestruck by demonstrating how much of data can be extracted using the right tools and easily available websites. He showed the top OSINT tools where we can find sensitive public information before the hackers could find out but to be aware of the honey pot.
It was an informative session and the audience virtually applauded the same. The session ended at 12:30pm with certain question and answers.

Second Demo session on Microcontroller and Embedded systems by Customer Support Engineer at ALS through ICT mode

On 14th May’2020, Mr. Raghavendra Prasad, customer support engineer at advance electronic system, ALS, delivered a Second demo session on Embedded systems Lab hardware programs Through Google Meet App (ICT mode). The demo session was organized by Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering.
Highlights of the session:
• Display “Hello World” message using Internal UART.
• Interface a 4x4 keyboard and display the key code on an LCD.
• Determine Digital output for a given Analog input using Internal ADC of ARM controller.
Faculty Members - Prof. Girish S, Prof. Megha Rani R, Prof. Rachana H K Gowda, Prof. Jayashree, Prof. Divya Jagadish of Dept. of Computer Science and Engineering, Prof. Janardhan D R, Prof. Ganraj K, Prof. Praveen Damle of Dept. of Information Science and Engineering were the beneficiaries of the session.
