CSE Student awarded in State Level Competition – IDEATHON, organized by Indian Society for Technical Education

IDEATHON Shishir Alva S, a student of Third year Computer Science & Engineering was awarded 2nd place in State Level Competition IDEATHON on “How To improve Safety And Health @ College Campus during Pandemic COVID-19" for his idea titled – “Temperature Frame Metal Detector”. The competition was organized by Indian Society for Technical Education Karnataka Section.
Here is what Shishir has to say about his achievement:
“Yes, my idea for this Ideathon was named “Temperature Frame Metal Detector” for detecting the temperature of people. I had come up with this idea because, I had noticed in most schools and colleges they use an infrared thermometer gun to check the body temperature. But there is lack of safety and prevention measures when it comes to this tool as the person who is incharge for this work might be busy with some other work or some people would just go in the crowd which might lead to them not being checked. Therefore, I came up with this idea. This idea is very much similar to the working of a metal detector, that's how I got here. The working is simple. The person has to step into this machine just like how it’s in a metal detector, the machine detects whether the person's temperature is high or not, if the person has high temperature, the machine beeps. This can be implemented everywhere - Malls, Schools, Colleges or Offices. That’s about my simple yet effective idea”
