Session on ‘Grooming the Next Gen in Family Business’ organized by NAIN and Asian Institute of Family Managed Business

NAIN On 21st May 2021, Asian Institute of Family Managed Business along with Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management in association with the New Age Innovation Network, Sahyadri, organized a Round Table on "Grooming the Next Gen in Family Business". Prof. Samish Dalal, Faculty, Global FMB, SPJAIN moderated the Round Table, along with speakers

• Parul Mathur, Business Development Head- Ultra Wiring Connectivity System Ltd.
• Karan Singla, Managing Director, Narain Group of Industries
• Sumit Tiwari, CEO, Timus Lifestyle
Over 100 participants including the students of the Young Leadership Program actively participated in this engaging and interactive discussion which revolved primarily on the journey that the panelists took while given the responsibility of their family business and how they were able to scale it up and become a role model for upcoming family businesses.

Webinar on ‘Effective Online CIE & Assignment’ conducted by Dept. of Examinations in association with ISTE

Webinar A Google Meet webinar was organized by the Dept. of Examinations on "Effective Online CIE & Assignment", supported by the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) for the faculty members of all branches. The speaker of the session was Prof. Sunil Kumar K, Dept. of Civil Engineering. The major objective of the session was to make the CIE process more effective in view of the obvious advantages to students during online tests. Prof. Sunil Kumar K, highlighted the need to enhance the conduction of online exams and stressed on the fact that it is crucial to raise the bar of conducting online exams. He explained certain techniques & procedures for Problematic subjects with a video demonstration of the technique using Google sheets that could make the questions unique with different values for each student, yet could simplify the job of correction for the evaluators. The above practice of having uniqueness in questions would reduce the cheating opportunities and improve the problem-solving skills of the students. The video demonstration was then followed by a Doubt Clearing session, where all the doubts pertaining to the above techniques were cleared.

MBA Dept. organized a session on ‘Breathing Techniques’ on Virtual Mode for the First Year MBAs

Sahyadri Management Students Association (SMSA) of the Dept. of Business Administration organized an online session on “Pranayama Breathing Techniques” for the First year MBA students on 23rd May 2021. The session was conducted by Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor. He demonstrated basic breathing exercise and pranayam techniques that can help improve their breathing and lungs health, thereby, help fight Corona infection. The session was organized in the wake of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases and to encourage a healthy lifestyle among students.

Workshop on ‘Stress Management & Mindfulness’ for Engineering Students

Stress_Management Workshop on ‘Stress Management & Mindfulness’ for Engineering Students was organized by the Dept. of Electronics & Communication Engineering on 23rd May 2021. Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor, facilitated the sessions.
Key Tips given by the facilitator of the workshop:
• How to maintain a healthier lifestyle
• Cope Up with stress of everyday living
• Spend time each day with at least one relaxation technique – imagery, prayer, yoga or meditation
• Take a warm bath or shower
• Go for a walk to relieve stress
• How emotions impact the energy in our body
• Regular practice to cultivate 3 core skills – Concentration, Sensor Clarity and Equanimity
• How to react when we are tested positive for Covid-19
• Need not worry of the past, improve the future
• Ways to practice mindfulness
• 3 structured mindfulness exercises - Body scan meditation, Sitting meditation and Walking meditation
The session gave the students and the faculty members an opportunity to learn how to manage stress in their daily lives.
