Highlights: Placement and Training

Placements for the 2021 outgoing batch of Engineers was a roaring success with over 120 Companies providing opportunity and 560 offers extended as on date.
The Placement and Training Department of Sahyadri ensured that the pandemic would not dampen the recruitment prospects for the students. A virtual recruitment process of this scale was conducted for the first time in the history of Sahyadri and the institution was more than well-prepared to fulfill the requirements. Despite the absence of students within the campus premises, extensive efforts were made to connect the graduating students to the prospective recruiters.
The Placement Season for 2021 outgoing batch started in the month of August’2020 with some of the best Product & Service companies visiting the Campus. Sahyadri facilitates a strong Academic and Placement Training to the students from 1st to final year helping them crack the best Product and Service Companies.
Highest numbers were picked by:
• Capgemini - 88
• Infosys - 82
• Cognizant - 74
• TCS - 60
• SLK Software -19
Samrudh M K Acharya, a student of Information Science & Engineering has been selected in Cohesity with a package of INR 24.5 LPA. In addition to this, Pre IPO of approximately INR 31.5 Lakhs for next 3 years (10.50 LPA per year) and Internship with Stipend of INR 6,0000/month from February 2021.

MBA Faculty members attend Webinar on “Empathetic and Techno-Pedagogical Approaches for the new normal” organized by AICTE

AICTE The webinar was held on 4th May’2021 which was facilitated by Dr. Pratima Khandelwal, Lead Facilitator – Pedagogy for Higher Education Institutions and Founder of “FlyHigh” Educational Excellence Services, Bengaluru.
MBA Department has recently received funding from AICTE on organizing Short Term Training Pogramme (STTP) for Faculty on “Innovative Approaches in Teaching Pedagogy” and the team is in the planning stage now. Attending this webinar has given heads up on the various skill-sets to target and also incorporating sessions in their STTP that would meet the demands of the new-normal.
During the opening remarks, Prof. Anil D Sahasrabudhe, Chairman of AICTE spoke about the COVID Crisis and how we shifted gears from Physical classes to Online classes. He is of the opinion that Blended classes are here to remain and use of technology has bridged the gap in Digital Divide as Education is available at affordable cost. He mentioned that the AICTE initiative - ATAL Academy of Training has made World Record with 1,50,000 Faculty being trained on Future skills through 1,000 FDPs and also mentioned of the Training programmes on “Universal Human Values” as well as the “Student Induction Programmes” being introduced. In his concluding remarks, he said that NEP 2020 emphasizes on Holistic development of students and lifting students in terms of realizing their potential which is unlimited should be the prime focus and using technology is part of life.

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organized a Webinar on “Prerequisites to be a Design Engineer”

Dept. of Mechanical Engineering organized a webinar on the topic “Prerequisites to be a Design Engineer” in association with CADMAXX SOLUTIONS PVT LTD, Indian Society of Mechanical Engineers (ISME), Sahyadri Institute Innovation Council (IIC) and FLAMES- Mechanical Engineering Students Association on 5th May’2021 for the final year Mechanical Engineering students. The topic was relevant & most valuable to Mechanical/Aero/Auto engineers, keen in areas of Mechanical design & development. Mr. Ashwin, Assistant Manager from CADMAXX SOLUTIONS PVT LTD, Bengaluru was the resource person. Through his session, he covered topics related to Preparation/readiness for a career in design, Role of an engineer, Career options for Mech/Aero/Auto engineers, Product Lifecycle and Introduction to CAD/CAE & industry. Around 100 students from Mechanical Engineering got exposure to the above said topics. Prof. Kiran Prakash coordinated the webinar.
