Chairman at the Eighth Edition of World 10K TCS Run in Bengaluru

Our Chairman, Dr. Manjunath Bhandary participated in the eighth edition of the World 10K TCS Run held at Bengaluru. He has been a part of this event ever since TCS organized the very first run in 2008. He had the honor of presenting the medals to the winners accompanied by film stars and 10K brand ambassador Mr. Punith Rajkumar and TCS’ Vice Presidents, Mr. Satishchandra and Mr. Nagaraj Ijari.

At the event, he met Olympian Ms. Marie-José Pérec, French track and field sprinter who is specialized in 200 and 400 meters and is a three-time Olympic gold medalist. Marie-José Pérec was the International Event Ambassador for this event.



Mr. Vivek B. Singh of Procam International Pvt. Ltd. Visits Sahyadri

Mr. Vivek B. Singh, Jt. MD, Procam International Pvt. Ltd, Mumbai, accompanied by Mr. Anand Louis Menezes, Mr. Hugo Van Den Broek and Mr. Satish Pillai visited the Campus and interacted with the Chairman and the Principal. On their walk around the premises, they appreciated the excellent infrastructure and ambience of the institute and were very impressed with the facilities provided at Sahyadri. Mr. Vivek B. Singh expressed his pleasure for having visited the Campus. He also added that Dr. Manjunath Bhandary, a friend of his is a visionary and his passion is obvious and visible. The students and faculty have an excellent atmosphere to study and conduct research activities. He wished the institute and all its stakeholders the very best and prayed for its growth from strength to strength.

Procam International is a full-fledged sports management company, involved in the promotion of national and international sporting events, sports consultancy and live television programming. Procam has promoted and conducted over 45 world events in the last 23 years. These prestigious events have elicited player participation of the highest calibre, as well as huge public interest. Mr. Vivek Singh is associated with The Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon, the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon and the TCS World 10K in Bangalore; three of the most prestigious distance running events in the world. They are accredited by the Association of International Marathons (AIMS).

COMEDK UGET- 2015 at Sahyadri

Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management was one of the centres for COMEDK 2015. A record number of 1448 students took the test in 2 centers allotted to Sahyadri. Students and staff of Sahyadri volunteered to help the students and their parents in all activities. Every comfort was provided to the visitors within the college campus. The visitors appreciated the informative visual presentation given by the Sahyadri team and the volunteer work done by the Sahyadrians. They expressed their appreciation to the open and friendly atmosphere of the college. They were completely satisfied with the arrangements made for their convenience and comfort. One of the candidates appreciated the systematic and organized arrangement of the examination halls and the help she received to access her examination room. The exam conducted at Sahyadri College was very well executed.

COMEDK (Consortium of Medical, Engineering and Dental Colleges of Karnataka) determines the merit of students seeking admissions to the undergraduate courses in the Member Institutions of the Karnataka Professional Colleges Foundation Trust (KPCF). The COMEDK Entrance Test is an exercise to shortlist candidates for grant of admission in a fair and transparent manner.

Dr. Swarup Hegde Professor from M.S. Ramaiah Dental College & Hospital, Bangalore and Mr. Manohar. C., Lecturer, Dept. of Physics, MES College, Bangalore were the Centre Observers from COMEDK.

Tech Vision 2015

Tech Vision 2015, a two-day intra-collegiate project competition was held in the Campus. The main objective of this event is to inspire the young minds of the engineering students by providing them a platform to demonstrate their skills and knowledge through projects. More than 50 Lakh rupees has been spent on Student Project Support Scheme (SPSS) wherein the grants in terms of 5000, 10000, 25000 and 50000 INR are being provided to each of the qualified student projects. More than 200 projects including SPSS and Non-SPSS projects, and VTU final year projects of B.E./M.Tech/MCA students were displayed. More than 500 students participated in the event demonstrating their engineering talent. Diverse technologies were displayed such as ATVs, 3D printers, 3D aerobic planes, Sail planes, Quadracopters, Octo-copters, Multiengine test rig, wind energy pump, earthquake resistant building, low-cost water filter to name a few. Around 12 external faculty members from other engineering colleges were invited as judges for this event. Click here to view the winners and their projects.

Interaction with Kanara Small Industries Association

A team comprising of Mr. M.J.Shetty, President, Mr. Gaurav Hegde, Secretary, Kanara Small Industries Association, Mr. Mahesh Bondal, Managing partner, KONSPEC and Mr. B.A.Nazeer, President, Canplast Industries, Mangalore visited the campus to interact with the Director and faculty members of the Department of Business Administration, regarding the proposed set up of Baikampady Industrial Township Authority. The team discussed about the possibility of association to conduct a detailed study regarding the small scale industries under KSIA banner. The team also had an interaction with Dr. U.M. Bhushi, Principal and expressed their interest to sign a MOU with the Institution.
