Zonal Level Competitions of Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014 held at GHSS Hosdurg, Kasaragod
The Zonal Level Competitions of Sahyadri Science Talent Hunt-2014 was held at GHSS Hosdurg, Kasaragod. Prof. Abdul Kareem, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management inaugurated the program. In his inaugural address, he explained the rich ancestry of Indians in Science and Technology and appealed the students to go back to our ancestral way of learning through practice, analytical thinking and experience. Sri. Govindan, Principal, GHSS Hosdurg, presided over the function. Mr. Prasad Chandran, Assistant Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management and Mr. Vasanth Kedige, Aptra, were Guests of Honour. The student team comprising of Prithviraj Shetty, Aneesh and Yaduraj coordinated and judged the events. The events witnessed good number of quality projects and models in both the centers. The essay writings and quiz competitions also attracted the crowd. The students participated with great spirit and enthusiasm.
Sahyadri P. U. Students Runners-Up at
“AVISHKAR – 2014”
Sahyadri P. U. Students won the Over-all Runners-up Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 25,000/- at “Avishkar – 2014,” a State Level Inter-Collegiate Science and Variety Competition for P.U. Science Students organized by Karavali Institute of Technology, Mangalore.
The winners are: “Science Model Making”: I Place – Harshitha & Deepa, “Best of Waste”: I Place – Anusha & Nisha, “Treasure Hunt”: I Place – Pavan, Shreyas, Akash, Zaibunnisa, Sonia, Vandana, Razila & Harshitha and “Technology Launch”: III Place – Pavan, Shreyas & Akash.
Rakshith, Rameeza, Kripali, Avarnya, Dhanusha, Saziya, Shariya, Neha and Spoorthi were the other members of the team. The students were ably guided by Ms. Neesha, Physics Faculty of Sahyadri P. U. College.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri
Mr. Abhinav M. Joshi, Campus HR & team , Cognizant Technology Solutions will be visiting the College on 6th, 7th and 11th of November 2014 to conduct a pooled campus recruitment drive for students of B.E., MCA and M.Tech. Eighteen colleges will be participating in the drive.

LG Soft India Private Ltd. Campus Recruitment Drive
Mr. Nitin Badak, Assistant Manager-HR, LG Soft India Private Ltd. visited the Campus for a recruitment drive for MBA students. Sixteen students from HR specialization attended the first round of aptitude test and eight students have been shortlisted for a group discussion. The final results are awaited. Sahyadri is the first campus that LG Soft India Private Ltd. visited in the South apart from IIMs and IITs, where they normally recruit students through campus recruitment drive.

  Mr. Harisha, Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Mr. Sourabh Prakash, Department of Information Science & Engineering have attended the IEEE Sponsored Student Leadership Workshop organized by IEEE Student Branch, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad.

 Shraddha Shetty, Semester I, Computer Science & Engineering, is a multi talented person. She has participated and won prizes in Dance, Singing Competitions and Race events. She is also an anchor.
