Feedback from a Placed Student

“I would like to share my experience at the L&T Infotech Campus Placement Drive which was recently held. The drive was conducted for 3 days and there were five rounds all together namely; Aptitude, Group Discussion, Paragraph Writing, Technical round and finally the HR round.

The Aptitude test comprised of 60 questions 20 each from Quantitative, Verbal and Logical reasoning and the time given was also 60 minutes. The selected students went on for the group discussion and the topic for our batch was "Impact of Chinese goods on the Indian Economy". We had to discuss for about 15 minutes. Each batch consisted of 15 members and around 8 were selected from our group. The second day we had paragraph writing for 20 minutes and they gave us different topics -
1. If I become Narendra Modi for 1 day.
2. My Dream: 1st day in L&T Infotech.
3. Sports can be career in India or not.

Paragraph writing was not an elimination round but they wanted to check our writing skills as to how we present our ideas. The HR himself told us that this test is needed to see how we would communicate to our clients in the future and to check and mark our linguistic skill as there lies a difference in speaking and putting the same thought on paper.

Next was the Technical round where our programming skills and overall knowledge on our core subjects were tested. We were given a form before the interview where we had to fill some details about us; on the projects done by us and our strong subjects. Hence, based on our strong subjects they asked us questions. Please make sure you are well prepared in at least two subjects.

The HR round came next, which was easy. Here they check your flexibility, confidence, your accent, the knowledge you have about the company and the way you present yourself.

On the whole I can say it was a good experience for me but always make sure you work on aptitude for its not that the questions are tough but time management is what one needs to concentrate on. The task of paragraph writing and group discussion can be scaled up with some topics on current affairs such as, ‘Make in India’, ‘Digital India’ etc. No one will give you a chance to speak, you should grab the opportunity to speak and present your points.”
