Pratheek, an Alumnus interacts with Civil Engineering Department
Mr. Pratheek, an Alumnus of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, currently working as a Junior Engineer at IZONE, interacted with the final year students of Department of Civil Engineering. He stressed on the Organisational Work Culture which has made the students aware of the expectation from the industry. During his interaction with faculties he emphasised that the problem of unemployment is due to lack of passion among students for jobs.
Vidyashankar, an Alumnus interacts with Department of Computer Science and Engineering
Mr. Vidyashankar, an Alumnus of Sahyadri College of Engineering & Management, currently working as a Territory Sales Manager at TTK, Prestige, addressed the third year students of Department of Computer Science and Engineering. During his interaction, he spoke about the challenges in the outside world; the struggle to get jobs after stepping out of college, the competition amongst colleagues in the industry and also the importance of aptitude and problem solving skills required by the job seeker. He also spent quality time interacting with the HOD and faculties of the department.

MBA Faculties conduct MDP on “Pathway to Excellence” for Nursing In charge of AJ Hospital, Mangalore
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Prof. Mithun Ullal and Prof. Sushma V from the Department of Business Administration facilitated a Management Development Programme (MDP) on “Pathway to Excellence” for Nursing In charge of AJ Hospital, Mangalore.
AJ Hospital is striving towards eminent awards in Health Care Sector. Gaining a collaborative support from the various departments of the hospital would have a competitive edge for its progress. Hence three sessions were facilitated on Leadership, Self Management and SWOT Analysis with SMART Goals by Dr. Vishal Samartha, Prof. Mithun Ullal and Prof. Sushma V respectively. It was encouraging to witness the overwhelming participation of 50 Nurse In charge’s adorning managerial positions. The programme was well accepted and appreciated by them.
It is encouraging to note that post conducting various Faculty Development and Leadership Development programmes in the Sahyadri Campus, the Department has now extended their spheres of expertise to conduct Management Development Programmes for various sectors in the society.
Zonal event of SSTH-2016 held at Vikas PU College, Mary Hill, Mangaluru
The Zonal event of SSTH-2016 was held at Vikas PU College, Mary Hill, Mangaluru. Ms. Navyashree B.R and Ms. Deepthishree S Aithal, Assistant Professors from the Department of Civil Engineering evaluated the projects. Projects like future helmet and smart farm attracted the attention of the gathering. Certificates for participation as well as to the winners were distributed.
