Zonal event of SSTH-2016 held at Expert PU College Valachil, Mangaluru

Pratheek, an Alumnus interacts with Civil Engineering Department The Zonal event of SSTH-2016 was held at Expert PU College, Valachil, Mangaluru. Eight teams participated in the project competition. SSTH Coordinators, Ms. Megha N, Mr. Gurusiddayya Hiremath and Ms. Reshma, Assistant Professors from the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mr. John Nikhil, co-founder, DT Labz, evaluated the projects. Dr. N K Vijayan, Principal, Expert College & Co-ordinator Mr. Ramakrishna Rao K were present for the valedictory ceremony. Certificates for participation as well as to the winners were distributed during the valedictory ceremony.

Mr. B C Pramod has joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor. He has completed his B.E in Mechanical Engineering & also M.Tech in Mechatronics, from NITK, Surathkal. His area of Specialization is Automotive Engineering & Thermal Fluids


Flicker Infotech organizes a Workshop on “Ethical Hacking” facilitated by Ankit Fadia

MBA Faculties conduct MDP on “Pathway to Excellence” for Nursing In charge of AJ Hospital, Mangalore Flicker Infotech, the student start-up of our institution, specialized in Designing and Development of Websites, Mobile Application & System Software organised a Workshop on “Ethical Hacking” which was facilitated by Mr. Ankit Fadia.

He emphasised the importance of learning ethical hacking for safety purposes and not for misuse. He also opined that ethical hacking is important for national security but at the same time it could be a bane if misused by the ones who learnt it. In his session, he stressed that the Law enforcement Officers should learn the skill of ethical hacking since they must have active ethical hackers.

In his concluding session, Ankit alarmed the gathering – with the advent of hacking from computers to mobile phones, the future of hacking will proceed to electronic home appliances using various codes and disrupting effective working of the appliances. He also stimulated the participants by stating that common knowledge of ethical hacking should be learnt by everyone to be safe in the digital world.
