First year Engineering students attend Swacch Manas Seminar at Ramakrishna Mission  The students of First year engineering attended a seminar on “Swacch Manas - Awakening Young Minds”, organized by Ramakrishna Mission as a part of their Swacchata Abhiyana: Phase 4 at Ramakrishna Mission Matt, Mangaladevi.

The seminar was inaugurated by Mr. M R Vasudeva, Retd. Director of Mangalore International Airport with the divine presence of Swami Jitakamanadji, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Mangaluru and Swami Muktidanandaji, Trustee of Belur Math, West Bengal. Swami Sarvasthanandaji, Minister in-charge of Ramakrishna Vedanta Centre, UK was the Chief Guest for the inaugural Ceremony. The inauguration was followed by two sessions by Prof. K Raghotham Rao, Director of Manas Training Academy, Bengaluru & Swami Muktidanandaji. Prof. K Raghotham Rao emphasized on the need for clean thoughts among the young mind so that it can motivate them to work selflessly for the betterment of the society. Swami Muktidananadaji spoke about the importance of spiritual awaking among youth.

Students Volunteer for Swacchata Abhiyana at Mangaladevi

Students Volunteer for Swacchata Abhiyana at Mangaladevi  Students of First year Engineering A & F section, volunteered for Shramadhan during the inaugural of Ramakrishna Mission Swacchata Abhiyana: Phase 4. The Phase 4 of Swacchata Abhiyana was set in motion on Sunday, 5th November, 2017 by Ramakrishna Mission at Mangaladevi. The students volunteered to clean the premises around Ramakrishna Math & Mangaladevi Temple during 07:30 am to 09:30 am. Students worked with enthusiasm & zeal which was well appreciated by the Ramakrishna Math and the general public. First year faculty Prof. Prajwal M & Prof. Nisha, Mr. Ankith S Kumar, Student Counsellor and Mr. Navin Pilar, Department of Art & Culture accompanied the students during the Shramadhan.

Sahyadri, the Overall Champions at the 20th VTU Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet 2017-18 Sahyadri, the Overall Champions at the 20th VTU Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet 2017-18 In the 20th VTU Inter-Collegiate Athletic Meet 2017-18 held at VTU, Belagavi during 3rd to 6th Nov’17, Sahyadri wins the Overall Championship. For the last consecutive 6 years Sahyadri has been the Overall Champions.

Calling Bell with Swachtha Tone

Calling Bell with Swachtha Tone Shri. Ramesh Chandappa Jigajinagi, Union Minister for Drinking Water & Sanitation, New Delhi during his visit to Sahyadri inaugurated the Calling Bell with Swachtha tone in the presence of Chairman, Mr. Manjunath Bhandary and Mr. Raghav Shetty, CEO, RDL Technologies.

This is an initiative by Dr. M R Ravi, CEO, Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayath towards cleanliness, thereby creating awareness among the general public by way of calling bell. This unique concept was presented by Dr. M R Ravi to the Sahyadri Management, in the presence of Faculty members and the Start up Team during his visit to Sahyadri earlier. As a response to the concept, a team of experts from the institute converted the concept into an end product by designing a calling bell with Swachtha tone imbibed in it. These calling bells have already been installed and are in use at the Dakshin Kannada Zilla Panchayath office. As a part of the Pilot programme, Sahyadri has expressed its willingness to partially sponsor for the cause in making of such calling bells.

Sahyadri Talent

Apeksha V K, First Semester, Civil Engineering is a Dancing Talent. She has won in various competitions at National & State Level. She was first Runner-Up in Group Dance Competition held at National Level organized by Karavali Sangamotsava, Karwar in the year 2013. She has also secured first place in State Level Group Dance organized by Shree Devi Cricketers, Boloor in the year 2013.
