Students of Dept of Electronics & Communication Engineering visited an orphanage on Children’s Day
On the occasion of Children's Day, Association of Electronics & Communication Engineering Students (AEnCES) organized an orphanage visit at “Prashanth Nivas”, Jeppu, Mangaluru. This visit was a life changing experience as it was filled with emotions and sentiments. Children belonging to different age groups from seven years to twelve years were a part of the event at the orphanage. The day started with an informal interaction between the students of Sahyadri and the orphanage. During the formal function, the Sahyadri team was welcomed by the orphanage children with a beautiful song. Children showcased their talents on stage. Various games were organized and a drawing competition was also held. To celebrate Children’s Day and make it memorable, there was a cake cutting ceremony and distribution of chocolates, ice-creams, books, crayons and pens was held. Children were also encouraged to make creative items from colour paper and waste. Finally, Prizes were distributed for games and drawing competition.
Alumnus of Information Science & Engineering interacts with students
Mr. Lenson Saldhana, an alumnus of Information Science & Engineering interacted with the pre-final year students. Mr. Lenson owns a startup named “axndx”, which built the first xenon smart plug. He shared his experiences about how the startup was initiated and the hurdles they faced and also on how they overcame it. He also gave a glimpse about the apps developed by their startup. It was most encouraging when Mr. Lenson offered internships to Sahyadrians in his organization.
Tomorrow at Sahyadri
A One-day training programme on “Blockchain” would be held at Sahyadri with the support of K-Tech Innovation Hub, DT Labz and Aptra.
